nice build. few tips, Paint the lifter valley next time for good oil flow return, measure push rods with tool to make sure there sweep is correct, Torque heads correctly from center out to ensure correct sealing on head gasket, use a different carb like a holley cause that engine wont like that one, the oil pan sound be torqed from one end to the other to make sure it doesnt get waves where it seals casing retarded leaks. Good job over all, just fine tune some of it.

the heads are already torque, this torque pattern is just for the vid, and yes, it's a edelbrock performer top end kit

3 points here: first - entertaining vid , second - thats a very tall phenolic spacer - especially for a mild performance application like this, third - I have built many motors and have always masked off the block and sprayed it - the idea of using a brush seems like a good one - no overspray and if the paint flows it looks like a good idea - I will be doing that next time

WRONG CARB, NO SPACER, CRAP HEADS, STUPID BLACK PAINT. Dude, a small Holley or Demon, trash the spacer, and use AFR 165 heads. Sorry. By the way, I build FORD Small Blocks for a living... thanks...

I've bought the engine as a short block, I've just changed the cylinder heads and the camshaft, and added all accessories

The cost ?, I live in France, it's less expensive to do this engine built, in the US

I'm sure this SB Ford is running down the road great. Nice vid, there is always ass holes having a bad day that feel they need to leave a ridiclous comment.

Why are you not using ARP head studs. Stock bolts are completely inaccurate on the torque readings.

Dude, i read some of the comments, and it seems like every time some one says "wrong torque pattern", you respond with "i just used that pattern for the video". So let me get this straight, u made that video with the wrong pattern, and after the video, u disassembled the motor so u can torque it the right way? Why wouldent u just do it right the first time and save urself the headache, the vid was in fast speed anyway. I think u just made a mistake & thats ur way of trying to fix it.

I'm spending my Christmas holiday building a 302 for my 66 Fairlane. I know, the car should have a 289, but the 302 is so much better and easier to find parts for.

your torque order for the heads was way off. just like putting a new rim on the vehicle crossed from one another in a criss cross pattern

Light blue is the traditional ford engine color. In the next two days I am getting ready to build up a 302 as well. Fun to see what I am about to do :) thanks for the video.
