I have always been a Stroker fan but here recently I have been really checking out a lot of Duramax's. and I think this video just sealed the deal for the next truck! But Bring out the Haters I dont care I never looked into Chevys so what is the difference and what is the LLY or LBZ.

@KTMFF3103 LB7, LLY, LBZ, LMM, and LML are all codes for the different engines available in the different years of truck. If you want to straight pipe it like this stay away from the LMM and LML, they are harder to do because of the EPA crap. The LBZ is the most sought after because it is the latest pre-emissions engine.

2001-2004 =LB7

2004.5-2005 = LLY

2006-2007.5=LBZ

2007.5-2010=LMM

2011+=LML

Lol I know what you mean I have grew up in a ford family and I love fords but there trucks are only good for work and no play so I want a duramax or a nice looking 5.3 so I can play and get good milage. I like a dodge but god everybody and there mom has one there are like 753940875 dodges and maybe 10 powerstrokes and maybe 5 duramaxs in my town no joke.

I love the duramax and I really to want one but the thing so far that gets me is they dont get the milage like other diesels that I know and thats kinda what is pushing me away from getting one.

I'm pretty sure most diesels are comparable, sometimes people just aren't honest about their ACTUAL mileage. I know my buddies 05 cummins was similar to mine but my other friends 07 powerstroke was worse. In fact my ford friend pulled his 40 ft enclosed with my duramax and loved it so much he went out and bought one.

I have very little experience doing that. I average about 14-15 MPG with all my driving, and I don't baby it by any means.

It will get 20 MPG unloaded down the interstate ifd I baby it. I average about 17 MPG down the interstate driving 80 MPH. It gets 10-11 pulling a 44ft enclosed gooseneck that weighs 17,000 lbs. It will pull the trailer at 80 with no problem.

That is the turbo, I had about 10 lbs of boost built up and let off of it. It was basically the turbo whining down, trucks don't have blow off valves so it does that instead. You can only hear it with a straight pipe

You mean because the picture is all funky? no, I had the camera hooked up to feed into my video monitor so I wouldn't need to use the viewfinder while driving. That is just the affect you get when you film a monitor that the camera is hooked into

absolutely!! I routinely smoke rice burners, not only by beating them but also by blowing black smoke in their windows as I fly by when the turbo boost hits. On the 5th level the edge ADDS 110HP and 290 ft.lbs of torque. I run in level 3 (70hp and 130 ft lb. EXTRA) anything more isn't condusive to city driving. It is fun to use when some pissed-off weed eater pulls up next to me though.

You really need to look into pacific performance engineering or efi live tuning..The edge is great and easy to do but its dirty and rough on the tranny. I have the ppe hot+2 on mine and it dyno'd 220 hp more at the rear wheels with it and ive heard EFI Live is a little better....doesnt add more power but its a little more in detail

u do realize that it is bad on your turbo to build the boost and let off of it to make that sound dont you!! When it makes that sound the turbo is back spooling and not getting the proper oil. Your tubo will go bad!

first take off the turbo supressor (the big plastic thing on top of the engine that says 6.6) Plug the hole with a rubber plumbing cap (found at any hardware store) Then just put a straight pipe on it. I have a 4" straight pipe I bought from a muffler shop off ebay for $225. if you can find the right shop they may be able to just cut out your cat and muffler. Most won't since it's illegal.

They do make them in a manual. I love my Dmax, I actually did a "pull-off" with an 04 Cummins with comparable mods and killed it.
