I wish there was something I could say about helping your mother...I think the best thing is to be supportive of her needs. I wish you both the very best!

This is quite an old video now and if you follow Lauren you can see her growing into a lovely young girl who handles her MS with grace and humour! I think she's beautiful. At the same time, there is no shame to sound like Kathryn Hepburn!! :-)

Also you still look great without the makeup.. Check out Victoria Williams, she's a very cool, eclectic singer that has MS. She has a wonderful unique style!! I wish you and your family all the best!! :-)

  • @nightstash1 Thank you so much!!

  • Thank You for sharing, you have given me a much better idea of MS symptoms, I have been experiencing many of the same with, shaky voice, tremors in hands and arms, loss of balance, weakness memory & concentration problems. I have been on many different medications prescribed for nerve tremors and also for what they think may be fibromyalgia but I am finally going tomarrow for MRI brain scan to check for MS, a bit nervous about doing it but I need to find out what is going on. Thanks again.

  • @SprayedAgain Thank you so much for your comment! I hope you have learned more about what is happening! I wish you the best!!

  • MS is now being linked to a new retrovirus called XMRV which infects the brain what makes your body send cytokines to the brain to fight the virus which results in brain lesions, a retrovirus becomes part of your DNA and you can't get rid of you can get it.

  • @omv08 Oh wow, I haven't heard ot XMRV...I'll look into it!

  • how long do you experience these symptoms for?

  • @cait5fitz5 I had them for about 6 months, but it would have been less if I went on steroids sooner.

  • so are you ok now and your doing good god is with you

    greeting

  • @XdefinitecodeX Aww, thank you!!

  • Lauren, your videos are so helpful. It is so nice to know that we are not alone, and also that there is hope and treatment. I will never forget how scared I was when first diagnosed earlier this year when I developed double vision suddenly. One of the first places I came to for help was youtube. You really are reaching a lot of people in a positive way.

  • @wisdaniel I am so glad! That was my intention!! I hope you have a beautiful weekend!

  • Hey Lauren,

I just met you in Kansas City and couldn't wait to get home to check out the videos you told us about! This is the first one I've watched, but plan on working my way through all of them over the next week or so. I can't thank you enough for doing this and for taking the time to travel here to talk about your life and experience with MS. It truly was a pleasure and very inspiring, and I can't wait to learn more about your journey...Eric

  • @aeolos58 Hi Eric!! It's so great to hear from you!! Thank you for writing! I look forward to keeping in touch!

  • @laurenvparrott Heck yeah!! I'm sure I will have many questions and comments as I work my way through your videos plus I'm learning about YouTube along the way...;) I watched 3 or 4 more today including your Christmas one, and WOW is all I have to say about that!! I'm really looking forward to getting into the Tysabri ones in the next day or so, and I think I realized last night that I really want, and probably need, to talk about my MS with other "chosen" ones a lot more then I have!

  • @aeolos58 I'm so glad Eric! Thank you so much for saying that about my Christmas video! And yes, I think you should look into Tysabri! Let me know any questions you have!! I'll talk to you soon!

  • I have to agree with every other post on here! It was very informative. I tried reading about it in my nursing book, but couldn't comprehend the reality of it. You totally put it into perspective for me. You have a great attitude and you are so delightful to watch! Thanks so much!!! Stay positive and hang in there!!!

  • Thanks you so much for putting this video up !

I have recently been told I have MS. I'm 17 and barely knew anything abut the illness prior t my diagnosis. I was so gutted and terrified when i found out but most of all i was just terrified. Everyone in my family seemed 10times more worried than i was which made me worry more! Your video was great to watch and really insightful. I have no idea what type of MS it is I have yet. You are such an amazing girl! Thanks so much ! xx

  • @MusicIsEndlessXD You are such a sweetheart! Thank you for writing! I am so glad you wrote to me - please write anytime! I wish you the very best!!

  • I have trouble with stairs too. People ALWAYS think I'm drunk in bars even when I'm sober! I'm so glad your slurring went away after you had your baby :)

  • Love your video.I am jealous of your ability to do it .

I hide my ms and it has caused me a lot of loss.I guess I don't hide it that well.People are aware but they don't understand.Ya wouldn't know i have ms.I must be drunk or something.I am a believer that people with ms are intelligent and often misunderstood by ignorance.Quite a ride Isn't it.

  • Thanks for sharing.I have found that relationships are most difficult because a non Non ms'rs can't ever understand even when they say they do.All too often the intellect falls on the ms'r and the ignorance moves on at a cost and a loss to all.

Thank You.....I wish I could find a woman with ms:-) thanks for the video.

  • Thank you so much for writing! I know what you mean - people don't understand. It is quite a ride! I wish you the best with everything!

  • "I got thrown out of bars cause people thought I was drunk ... I wasn't! ... well, sometimes I was"

    Hahaha

You are adorable & very strong. Your sense of humour is lovely and you're an inspiration, thank you for sharing your experience, you have an amazing strength and thanks to you I have a better understanding.

  • Hahahah! Thank you so much for your comment!

  • Thank you so much for sharing your experience, I have MS (don't know which form), am currently living in a foreign country with not a very good medical system and I feel like no one understands what it's like.

  • Thank you so much for sharing your experience, I have MS (don't know which form), am currently living in a foreign country with not a very good medical system and I feel like no one understands what it's like.

  • Thank you for writing! I wish you the very best with everything! I understand what you're going through...and so do many others. Please write to me anytime!

  • Thanks for being brave enough to video yourself with the symptoms... bless your heart! I have non progressive, and sometimes if I have relapses, it's so hard to know if it's the MS or something else, and I don't want to dwell on the MS . Best wishes to you!

  • Thank you so much for your comment! I know what you mean about not knowing if it's MS or something else...I wish you the very best with everything!!

  • My mom and aunt had MS and now I have it, The thing that I've learned is to try and stay positive and walk and much as you can. Don't be embarassed about your condition. I have double vision for 6 months and I dunno how, but I've got used to it. Wish you all the best and take care! May God bless you

  • I couldn't agree with you more! I try my very best to stay positive...and I walk and exercise as much as I can. I wish you the very best with everything!! God Bless You!

  • I love you too!! Thank you so much for writing to me! We definitely need to get together!

  • My mom had MS... To me it is potentially the most scary disease in the world, you can never really know what to expect... She died on February 5th, 2008... I hope for the best of you, but it effects everyone differently. She had it for a total of 18 years (since I was 3)

  • I have MS for 5 years. I started drink black seeds oil and after 4 weeks 85% of this fucking sickness just disapear !!!

  • Wow! Congratulations!

  • I have some very interesting facts about, "treatment" for MS, and I'm sure that this sickness can't be treat by some kind of drugs... It's a problem of our diet... It's very obvious but people don't even know, they're taking drugs and they can't be free from MS... becouse ofcourse it's a business, etc...

  • My 15 year old granddaughter has recently been diagnosed with MS. Videos like yours will help her. I hope she will be as cheerful as are you in a few years.

Take care and God bless you.

  • ASPARTAME causes MS among many other pains, and illnesses. This chemical is found in many products consumed by millions of ppl on a daily basis. Just to name a few: Nutra Sweet, Equal, Zero, Splenda, Yougurt, Diet Coke, all diet sodas, in fact in every product marked as: Sugar Free, No sugar Added, Lite, Diet, non fat etc. Make a youtube search under Aspartame and know the truth about this mortal poison hidden in food. If it says sugar free, don't even think about it.

  • I know Aspartame is really bad for people. I don't drink diet sodas or eat sugar free food, and never have, so it didn't cause my MS - but I know it's really bad for you.

  • Hey Lauren...May God bless you and I pray that you get well. I am studying MS in nursing school in Birmingham, AL. and wanted to find a visual to the reading. Thank you for posting this bc it has helped me to get a visual of what it's like to live with MS. Take care. Victoria^_^

I have suffered with you and you had no Idea I even exsisted :) I admire you so much! I too am an Advocate. I too am one of the "Lucky ones".I am Lucky because I can walk now, you have helped to keep me a float when I was drowning in fear. I wanted to let you know how alike we are, and that I was out here just trying to make it with MS in a confusing whirl wind

  • Thanks Lauren, my Wife is suffering from another relapse right now... she is on Interferon and is nervous about having to yet again take the Corteroid? steroids...

  • I'm sorry your wife is having another relapse. I really wouldn't worry about steroids. I would only worry if she was on them every single day. Good luck to you both!

  • Very inspirational video

  • Thank you so much!

  • Lauren,

FIRST of all you are an Amazing person that has more inner strength and inner beauty than most people can even fake to have! But Seriously how ironic is it that this was the first video i clicked on to watch. Hopefully the new mascara will give you those diva lashes like i saw you have, every day without a struggle! I'm a firm believer that everything happens for a reason & i cant put my finger on it yet but i know that i feel so blessed to have met you!!!

    Much Love & Support~ Liandra!

  • Hi Liandra!! It is so great to hear from you! You are so sweet - I'm so glad that we were able to meet each other, and I LOVE my new mascara!! I've been putting it on and it doesn't look as good as yours, but I'm practicing! It is so ironic that this is the first video you watched - I feel like that was so long ago, but I remember how devastating it was to not be able to put on mascara. Now I love it and I love Lancome! I hope we can see each other again one day!!

    Much love

    Lauren :)

  • Hey lauren,

i know this is an old vid. But you are my hero, i'm going to xerox your attitude and take it! You videos may be the saddest things ive ever seen. But your attitude to life is amazing. All the best, keep enjoying life as much as you can.

  • I have been fighting ms for over 3 years now. I just wanted to thank you for sharing your video. I am praying for you and want you to know that your strenghth will help people just like us.

  • Thank you so much! That means a lot to me!

  • Lauren,

Do you go back to almost normal without an exacerbation/relapse? If you avoid stress, how many relapses will you have?

  • After my relapse, I got 99% back to normal. I still have minor tremors but they're very manageable. Everyone is different so it's hard to say how many relapses one will have, even if you avoid stress, but that's the best we can do! I try to avoid stress at all costs. I hope this was helpful!

  • Hi Lauren...i had just had a tysabri infusion last friday and the nurse at the clinic introduced me (and my bf) to YOUR video about getting your infusion. The nurse said that she shows everyone who comes in for an infusion your video. I am 23 and got diagnosed almost 2 years ago. Me and my boyfriend watch your inspiring videos on the laptop. My name is Aissa. Shamrock Thunder is my dog's name. Just wanted to say THANK YOU! Your videos help me get through the day. Take care always and God bless!

  • Wow! I'm so excited that your nurse told you about my videos!! Just know that you are going to be just fine, and you are lucky to have been diagnosed young - and now that you're taking Tysabri, I'm sure you'll see great results!

I hope you and your boyfriend are doing well! Please write anytime!
