What I miss from alpha: - Beaches - Less trees dont you think trees right now are fucking annoying cause they are everywhere! - Ligher grass. Right now Notch/Jeb exagerated with the dullness - Boosters and boat elevators - Biomes - plains without so much tall grass - Small oceans What I DON'T miss from alpha: - Color of leaves - lack of items/blocks - the glitches - lack of mobs - lack of harcore and creative mode - lack of generated structures. The Pine forests were added in because people complained that dark wood was to difficult to find.

The swamps were added in as a way to find plenty of mushrooms

and beaches have been in since the beginning, I have had this since Alpha 2 and the game has only been going up hill.

if you hate the swamps and pine forests don't go into them

Before the 1.8, the world generator was epic with seed like "glacier" or "gargamel".

And now? Just giant deserts, oceans and pine forests, no more flying islands, epic mountains, green grass...

The grass texture for Alpha was SO much better, is it just me or does minecraft look a lot duller than it used to? I mean, I like the fact that Notch is trying to improve the game but it was better in the times when your first house wa s a dirt hut, not hijacked from an NPC village. You had to find your house when you died rather than just making a bed. Despite Notch's efforts to make the game more complex and challenging, I still feel that since Alpha it's just got easier and easier to survive.
