I'm not from the USA but I saw your post above. Happy thanksgiving to you. I understand it is quite a big thing over there. I'm sure that the founding forefathers would turn over in their graves at all the things that are being done in the so called protection of the constitution name.
"I'm sure that the founding forefathers would turn over in their graves at all the things that are being done in the so called protection of the constitution name. "
I think one of those things would be the Patriot Act. That is one of the most disturbing introductions to our laws in the US that ever existed. Yet we pass it off as though "it will protect people". Yeah right! At what cost?!
Gosh that was a quick response. Okay let me clarify that drugs that are taken for pleasure including alcohol and tabacco ruin families. Don't know about asprin but I am sure that some of those other prescription drugs can also be dangerous if abused. I personally think if we could concentrate on herbal medicines we would all be better off but the drug companies have too much to lose don't they. Marijuana might have caused someone to do something stupid and die
Thank God for living prophets for through them He reveals His will concerning these things. He knew the abuse of substance that would take place in these times and therefore has warned us against them through His prophet

Oh give me a break, don't you believe abuse of such things occurred in the OT? What about Noah?
Things will be abused regardless of laws.
Food, prescription medicine, alcohol, etc. All are things that get abused. And these things are legal.
Absolutely but the internet was not freely available for pornography back then. We live a different age and with new inventions all the time God knows the end from the beginning so what was applicable in Noah's time aint necessarily applicable in our time. We need modern revelation.
Having been LDS I am sure you must have read section 89 in doctrine and covenant about the word of wisdom. A lot of it is not unlike your own ideas except you want to drink a little.
Im not sure if you know this. But Joseph Smith was the first person in Nauvoo to receive and use a liquor license to serve 'strong drink' in a bar that he built next to his home.
Joseph Smith also paid the guard at Carthage jail $1 for a bottle of fine wine that he shared with Hyrum, and John Taylor the night before he was killed.
They also enjoyed a pipe with tabacco.
This is all found in the LDS produced "History of the Church".
Hi, You speak well. To me though I can't help but think your statements of what you believe in all jeopardize the family unit. Drugs in any form ruin families. Pornography in any form runis families. Same sex marriage ruins families. I know that you were LDS but are no longer, do you believe in any religion now or are you agnostic/athiest?
Well, then put down your aspirin, your lortab, your prozac, your cold medicines, your sleeping pills, etc..
Utah leads the nation in prescription drug use. But the major problem with that as opposed to marijuana, is that prescription drugs KILL people. Marijuana has NEVER killed anyone, ever.
great video..... though mormons and catholics to name a few, are bigots and disgusting filthy pigs.

"do you believe in any religion now or are you agnostic/athiest?"
I don't believe in religion. I don't think Jesus did either for that matter.
I am instead a disciple of Christ. And instead of having a religion. I have a relationship with the Lord.

Paul was a desciple of Christ and preached against some of the things that you advocate ie pornography and same sex marriage.

"Paul was a desciple of Christ and preached against some of the things that you advocate ie pornography and same sex marriage. "
Protecting our constitution and advocating something is ENTIRELY different.
The reason that the Jews wouldn't accept Jesus as Savior is because He wasn't a politician, and he wasn't a governmental supporter as they expected.
Jesus "gave to God what is God's, and gave to Caesar what was Caesar's"... But Jesus wasn't out making laws to discriminate.

I'm sorry I am not familiar with the Patriot Act. What is it or does it take too long to explain?

If you check out my website: utahpirateradio. com on the home page I made a post called "The Patriot Act".
It's scarey!

Have you ever read Deuteronomy 14:26?
The Lord instructs taking upon riches so that people can enjoy "strong drink".
Jesus was known as a "wine-bibber". Why? Because He drank fermented wine.
Being drunk is not permitted according to scripture. But responsibly enjoying recreational drugs is condoned in scriptures.
You say herbal medicines would be better. Marijuana is that

I mean what's the next step here to protect people from obesity, shall we outlaw food?
Or how are we going to protect people from car accidents, outlaw cars?
Or how are we going to protect people from old age, outlaw pregnancy?
Please.. Think this through. Anything can be abused. But God condones recreational drugs. Deut. 14:26.
If it's ok for Jesus, then it's ok for me.

When talking about Noah, we are not talking about pornography. I am talking about something that God condones, which is alcohol.
Noah became drunk, despite God's warning to not become drunk.
Like I said, if it's good enough for Jesus, it's good enough for me. And laws won't prevent people from abusing things.
The point I made earlier about food applies here.
Shall we outlaw food, to stop obesity?

No problem... Just an illustration of Old Testiment revelations and so-called "modern day revelations".
Moses gave revelations to drink "Duet 14:26", and Joseph Smith often enjoyed "Strong drink".
