@mikenotangel Well, first you need to install a custom firmware on the PSP using a Pandora battery and Magic Memory Stick, then download and copy pspdisp to the Game folder on a regular memory stick.
@mikenotangel and @elpanchovilla13 install the server exe to your computer, and go into command prompt and type "ipconfig" to find out your computer's ip address on your wireless router, normally starts with 192.168.1.xxx. When pspdisp starts on your PSP, put in that ip for the server and it should connect, the program on the computer should give you a confirmation that a device has connected. From there, you can mess with the settings to get it running the way you want.
Let's hope that the PS Vita gets hacked soon when it's out, so that someone can make a port of Dolphin to PS Vita. Result: Wii games portable. I think the Vita will have enough power to emulate at least most of 2D and 2.5D Wii games at full speed, won't it?
@SuperSZ I think the Dolphin emulator still has a long way to go. My computer is most likely more powerful than a PS3, and it can't run every game at full speed, now say a game like NSMBW, maybe, in time. I'd honestly be happy with a decent port of nullDC (A PSP port was attempted, but it's nowhere near powerful enough to run anything anywhere near playable).
@knuxthefox you said it. It's kinda strange all this thing about emulation: I have a laptop with a core i3 processor, and I can emulate new super mario bros (wii) at full speed, but I tried a lot of Dreamcast emulators for games like Ikaruga, Soul Calibur, etc and they run at 40 FPS which is pretty slow.
Btw, if you have a PS3 you probably would be interested in this: /watch?v=t4SiqcqNsXA , it shows a DS emulator for PS3 which is being developed. Pretty interesting
@SuperSZ Ikaruga and Soul Calibur run full speed on my AthlonX2 on nullDC. Be sure to grab the latest development build from EmuCR and you'll also need a bios file which I'm not allowed to tell the location of.
@knuxthefox I've just tried it, it's a very good game, thanks for the recommendation. If you like those kind of games too, you can play Donpachi and Dodonpachi, for playstation 1. They are space shooters but very fast paced ones, and hard (you'll die, and die again, and again and again :P but it's awesome anyways)
@knuxthefox thanks for the website, I didn't know it and it's pretty cool. I've just tried the lastest release of nullDC in my laptop but it's the same result. Maybe it's because this emu uses more of the video card than the processor (and I believe Dolphin does the opposite), and it's video card is a "intel HD graphics" (I don't know how good it is compared to some Nvidia cards like ... the 8600 GT for example). Anyways, thanks for trying to help. Gonna add you to my friends :P
@lukas10111 you can map shake to a button. I have it mapped to the square button on the PSP. For pointing, by default Dolphin uses the mouse. You could probably map the mouse to the analog stick, using joytokey if necessary, but NSMBW uses standard NES-style controls, so that's no problem. The game runs full-speed without a hitch on Dolphin. It'd probably run a lot better on my new system too, but I think this video is good enough. I recommend one of the development builds available from EmuCR.
@pspgameration I'm sure that's not why he's gone. I'm sure that something happened because he always comes back home. I don't know if someone took him or what. He's just gone.
Just wondering since this is being played on a psp, do i need a straong computer? Cause ill i got is a netbook.. Im thinking im SOL lol.... Just now caught the comments Im SOL... Dammit lol
@fuhfuhfresh Yeah, until Dolphin gets a bit more optimized, or netbooks get a lot better, you'll need a gaming rig. Even on my machine, you may notice that the framerate isn't that great. It runs perfectly when PSPdisp isn't running, but when running, it slows it down....kinda like Fraps does with games except this also has to communicate with the PSP wirelessly (through wireless network).
@jasontungjw So you want to know because you searched through Google and didn't find anything? I bet I can search Google right now and find something.
@zzzrichard Classic games are no problem. There are excellent emulators for systems such as NES, SNES, Genesis, NeoGeo, Capcom CPS1 and 2 (arcade), Playstation (native emulation by Sony) and even Nintendo 64! And with PSPdisp and a good computer, you can play anything that can be played on a PC as well.
80s this IS AWESOME you've convinced me man, I want a psp just for modding. You know what would be cool? If you could get the new DKC returns game, thats coming out soon to run on your psp. I suppose thats if the game is any good. I bet you could do it.
@knuxthefox Wow! It DOES seem to be a full game, and it looks great! And it was done by Retro Studios, the same people who brought us Metroid Prime, which is number 1 on pretty much every list of top Gamecube games! I can't wait to try it! I'm not sure it'll run on Dolphin, but I'll certainly run it on my Wii when it comes out.
If I hadn't said already, the latest version of PSPdisp is available through EmuCR.

@lukas10111 you can use whatever you want, but the latest version from EmuCR is going to work the best.

I've been trying to get F-Zero GX running, but Dolphin only runs it at around 60-70% with glitches right now. Eventually, it will be running.

@zzzrichard Did I say you couldn't play them on the PSP? Let me list a few emulators that are available and mostly still improving:
NesterJ (NES)
Snes9xTYL (SNES)
PicoDrive (Genesis)
Daedalus (N64)
MVSPSP (NeoGeo MVS Arcade)
CPS1PSP (Capcom CPS1 Arcade)
CPS2PSP (Capcom CPS2 Arcade)
These are all emulators I have or have tried and run on PSP 1000, though have versions designed for 3000.
