It's strange that some people rally genuinely like this album. I heard Band on the Run when I was eleven and loved it instantly, but I cannot get into this album at all. It seems Sir P writes a lot of great tunes and also a lot of not very good ones. Maybe that's how it's done. If you just keep churning it out you're going to produce a classic every so often? Mind you, the good ones really are VERY good.
When this album came out, I was still really pissed that the Beatles broke up so I didn't wanna like it. But after listening to it I found myself liking the whole album. Glad I didn't let my emotions rule me. Great job Sir Paul & the band. Don't think they did another album that I liked as much. They did some great songs after this album but never an album quite this good in it's entirety. Nuff said.
I swear, some people have no sense of humor. If you can't just smile and bee bop along with this tune you have a very sad existence! Besides that, there are some very cool dynamics in this song that you flat liners obviously don't understand. I think if you dislike this song you probably only listen to "music" that makes you ears bleed.
One of my favorite McCartney and Wings songs! For those that like the Band on the Run and Venus and Mars recordings, though, you should really get yourself a copy of the live Wings Over America cd from their 1976 concert tour.
I love this album. I personally liked it more than Band on the Run. This has so many great songs and great styles. This song is my favorite. Great pop song.
@shaniaisgod choosing between venus and mars & band on the run is like dividing by zero ... you just cant do it and if its ever done the world will implode
There is no other Song better than this! - I listen to it 5 yr.'s later: Still Great! - I listen to it 10 yr.'s later: Still Great! - I listen to it 15 yr.'s later: Still Great!
This LP brings back really great memories of my youth. Spent lots of evenings listening to this with my cousin - before we climbed out his bedroom window, down the steep roof and proceeded to scamper around his quiet, small town in the Midwest. Happy memories! Thanks for posting!
My Favorite Wings album! Had since I was 5, had no idea at the time it was Paul McCartney from the Beatles though, I just liked the sound to my ears. Old soul here. lol
If the Crimson Dynamo assured me.....I'd sure as hell listen.

this is a good song and analogy to show how girls can lie about who they are and betray their boyfriends

This is the kind of fluff that Macca constantly gets downed for - especially by Lennon fans.

beg to differ. Band on the Run is a good album. Venus & Mars is terrible, in my opinion

@maximtrickett Come off it ; terrible is at least a bit of an exaggeration. THIS is a very good track and it has a few others which are very good too
