  • It not the media, who are just middle people, brought out information to public. So, seem to me that some organizations are pooping their pants about deaf signers create movies, vblog, online, etc. are getting their attention somehow lead them to takes a step more to publish regularly. I would say good job to deaf signers did the impact, if ever.

  • The problem is that the hearing world is stuck in an ideology, and needs to broken out of that ideology. For that to happen, there needs to be more in the media by Deaf film-makers, writers, creative people, etc. that tells a different story and a different perspective, or diversity of perspectives.

  • I agree. Hopefully we'll see that happen soon.

  • I was there to witness for what troublemakers / problem creators did to my daughters. No one listens to me. Sighs! The reporters are not being honest about our Deaf leaders s words because they twisted into many negative statements and lies about us. Also they limited our freedom of speech with responsibility. Oh i have a lot of stories that are not so great experiences for me to handle it but I did it that I had to stop. It was no easy tasks for me to be a single mother with no support help.

  • I just dont know what to do and how am i gonna to support her and her babies all the way. I ended up to support my daughter and her kids for six years.Guess what? it turned a real nightmare for me and my daughter to deal the d violence, I had to stand to protect my daughter by boyfriend without talking to anyone. Police didnt even talk to me whats going on the situation at all. I feel what the fuck and said it to myself Am i invisible to them?

  • Also, one time I was trying to communicate with one reporter. Guess what? they posted it in the google search that is what I decided not to say anything to the reporters as I was tested on reporter before i can say anything more than i said it on the letter. Thank god I knew it so I refused.. I dont trust them since they did twisted to make it look bad on me as a Deaf single mother in the past in the newspaper article after I got for a help since to be continued....

  • AND so be it. I do not trust any stranger doctors anymore because many sites are scams and lies many things that they are not a real one. Also my pet peeves is that they are selling HARD DRUGS from the internet that I was kinda what the fuck going on. I feel Govt is not taking care of us well enough to protect our people. That is a real big scare and need to wake up calls. Too many scams going on that s why I refused to communicate with others since too many scammers who made trouble for us

  • My reason is that I didnt create the problem or my own mental illness at first after all those years and in todays I am still getting suffered for nothing. I felt that oppression and discrimination are still following me everywhere i go. So therefore, I will not take any hard drugs because of their abusive control and power over my own identity and true inner soul to be taking over by Medical and Hearing Supremacy as Audism. I refused to take any of it that can ruin your inner body system.

  • This is WHY I think deaf organisations need to stop preaching to the converted and hire professional PR experts who are fully knowledgeable about Deaf issues. There is no point hiring PR professionals who think along the same lines as the mainstream media.

  • They would prefer to listen to doctors and other medical professionals, who tell them one thing. Then there are people with no medical training whatsoever, telling them they are PROUD to be Deaf. Of course, media commentators would have an inherent bias and automatically disregard peple who say they are PROUD of their disability. (when we tell them that we are alinguistic and cultural minority we may as well be talking to the wall, or an alien language, they will not listen to us.)

  • Excellent vlog.

I think that many Deaf Organisations need training in PR.

The main problem as I see it is the completely different approach to what Deafness represents, the media represents the prevailing opinion, and like it or not, we are in a minority.

  • This is not something for me to be worrying about. The DVTV community is destructive. No question about it.
