The original cistern level was indeed huge, overwhelming even. In anniversary not much so, although it's still quite large. But i feel that most levels in anniversary have been simplified somewhat. Anyway, there is a time trial option for a reason... ;D

There are clearly two Centaurs in the orginal, and you can just run through them. Whereas in Anniversary, they have to be fought, but I thought they were easy enough to beat. Get the shield from one, then use it for them both :)

I don't know if it's cause I'm getting older now but this game used to scare the hell out of me (still chills me a little)

I think it was the claustrophobic corridors, the eerie black fog, the skinless creatures and the strange silence.

I just don't get that from Anniversary.

Still think it's a great remake, especially the art direction.

the scariest enemies in the whole of tr1 were the crocs! they scared the hell outta me! so much so i was paranoid about jumping in water for the whole game!

in my opinion, the scariest enemies are the cat mummies in the egypt levels. god, how scary it was to see bandages fall off those critters in the last level.

I didn't like this level in Anniversary, but in TR1 I loved it.

That makes sense, Tomb of Tihocan has really been changed a lot in its remake.

I didn't get this from anywhere :P. The audio is from the TRA extra features, I just recorded it in-game, and then recorded some TRA video to go along with it.

The TR1 parts I have downloaded from a YouTube walkthrough as I don't own the game myself. Please see the video description for more details.

To sum all up, I just recorded audio and put video over it. :P

Notice how Toby Gard claims that there's only one centaur in Tomb Raider 1, but in the louischou's TR1 video there are clearly 2.
