  • YEAH!

  • I would give my middle nut for the chance to go up on a Shuttle... just for the chance to look down.

  • Wake up, people! This actually took place in a warehouse near Groom Lake, Nevada. Don't let yourself be brainwashed by "the man".

  • @rustyspartner... Wake up, people! His comment was actually written in a trailer park somewhere near Groom Lake, Nevada. Don't be brainwashed by 'the boy'.

  • @TheBmoll I live in a trailer park near Madagascar. Get it right, skidmark.

  • @rustyspartner... Fantatstic! Just what the world needs...another Nosy Be pirate?! One tip for you. Peurile insults dont do a lot for you image as an informed commentator, a little like your original comment..."Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt."?!

  • @rustyspartner Retarded comment of the year goes to rustyspartner! They payed $1bn per launch to fake it and as for the International Space Station it's sitting in area 51 surrounded by magic and fairies. People like you should of had their throats cut at birth, a complete drain on human civilization. Anyway brilliant video, looking forward to the next decade or two to watch these kind of videos from deep space, hopefully the moon aswell!

  • @JB9208 I just thought of something, how 'bout you fuck off? Your mom paid me $1 billion to shove my cock in her pie hole so she could make a deposit @ the sperm bank to fill the test tube that was your womb. And what an insightful assumption you've made about my contributions to society based on one drunken comment. I'll make an assumption about you based on your comment. You must be female. I'd rather not get into a battle of wits with the weaker sex.

  • @rustyspartner You just proved your inferior IQ to the rest of us YET again. Childish comments and a ton of incorrect facts EVERY POST. Everyone here is laughing at you. Your a joke of a human being, accept it. You live in a deluded little world in your mothers basement most probably, spewing out mindless shit about conspiracies in the hope that it will make you important and people will actually acknowledge you but the fact is, we hate you? Most of us wish that you didn't even exist, pathetic.

  • HAHA! That's the lady that assaulted her lover's girlfriend! Weirdo.

  • It's soo quiet in there. I would've just yelled OMG I M GOING 2 SPACE!!!!!

  • Why do they throttle down for a second time when they're about to enter orbital insertion? Surely the atmosphere is very thin so there'd be no stress on the ship? And why, on the edge of space, would they experience 3 gs?

  • @roystonsaxon In orbit there's .9 gs, because you're really not that far from Earth. Weightlessness in orbit is caused by constantly falling towards Earth, but while moving sideways fast enough to not hit. But the reason there are 3 gs during launch is because they're accelerating upwards (at about 30 m/s^2), and thus getting pushed back in they're seats with 3 times the force of gravity.

  • 1:43 The.. Im on Earth but gona be in space in 10 minutes.. Dance

    xD

  • what are they all the time doing with their books or folders????

  • how long would it take to the spain runway?

  • @Mallaclllypse About an hour

  • Noticed Lisa Nowak is on this flight, lol.

  • If you are stupid enough to think Obama is the one the ended the space program you obviously aren't smart enough to follow NASA and you should find something else to do, like watch Hoarders.

  • I need views, please

  • It's pretty bad we have to watch YouTube Vids of the Space Shuttle because some idiot shut down the Program.

  • @Navy6438 You mean every President since Kennedy that bankrupt our country mixed with a shuttle program that had no purpose but to waste billions since it had no purpose anymore? Yeah, that guy.

  • Paving the way...for the funding to be cut since nobody seems to believe in science anymore in this bassackwards country.

  • Sarah Pailin & The Teabaggers dislike this video because Jesus is not on board to prevent science being done.

  • ahh, i see. those people have some big balls to be strapped to all that "fuel" and to be shot into outerspace...you couldnt pay me enough money to go for that ride.

  • @washington why would they be screwed if they can return after a malfunction? i.e. engine failure.

  • so what happens when the shit hits the fan once the shuttle passes the point of negative return?? i.e. engine failure

  • @treezy333 There is a point of return. If they can return then they are screwed.

  • @treezy333 Negative return is just referencing return to the launch site not the other abort modes. Sites over seas in France and Africa are additional abort sites on launch.

  • O tas 2 more year so i could become an austronaut whoooo hooi

  • Amazing

  • ..LOl

  • @ icomethird: yes, the nozzles can vectorize thrust to make it more efficient at different phases of the ascent. At launch, they concentrate their exhaust inwards to help maintaining vertical balance given the enormous weight of the ET. After staging, they steer their thrust outwards to ensure the vehicle's trajectory. Finally, shortly before MECO, they swivel to turn the vehicle upside down in order to limit the stress to 3 Gs (the air is too thin to perform this with the wings' elevons).

  • monkeys in the space yeaaaah

  • They didn't let him finish his homework

  • wonder how suspenseful it was just sitting there. probably had monster butterflies!

  • WTF??? at 1:44

  • did i hear swiveling of the engines? dang i didnt know the shuttle had thrust vectoring capabilities! sick man, it must be pretty agile lol.

  • Thumbs up if 7,000 miles per hour would have made you shit yourself.

  • During the course of this video I would have shit myself 7 times and counting.

  • porkypker27... that so true what you said....i agree so freakin much!!!!

  • i want that same exact suit for halloween

  • I wonder what the guy on the back is reading at 8000mph.....

  • Boy those guys were booking! 7000 mph?!

  • @verylazboy well that's just a theory though. We don't exactly know.?

  • Does anebode know at what time from range they are totally weightless?

  • @MrDaan747

    Never. Gravity does not vanish.

  • This is amazing.

Look how much humans have made it from 100 years.

Just 100 years, VERY little time in our universe, from the first flight of the wright brothers, to launching into space in the 60's.

It's so amazing, our universe is so beautiful and I hope in another hundred years we will be able to go from our universe, to other universes and make science better, with answers and explanations.

Thankyou so much NASA for launching science!

  • @porkypker27 The universe is commonly defined as the totality of everything that exists. Yet you discovered more? You should work for NASA man. Write a book and make a movie. LoL

  • @porkypker27 Why can't everybody understand things such as these the way you do?? The beauty of the engineering of space shuttles, planes, and even auto mobiles. I'm happy that there are people like you that can understand the true beauty in these amazing creations and not take them for granted, passing them on like it is no big deal.

  • @porkypker27 It´s wrong , the first flight was of the Santos Dumont one Brazilian genius

  • @Johnny4718 I'm sorry, the Wright brothers are credited to the first heavier than air powered flight by the FAI. In 1905 they had a 40 minute flight. In 1906, Santos Dumont only managed a little over 200 meters.

  • @Johnny4718 BOTH WRONG! The worlds first heavier than air powered flight occurred on March 31st in 1902...Conducted by pioneer aviator Richard Pearse (1877-1953) in Temuka New Zealand. Pearse is also credited with the invention of the worlds first variable pitch propellor and the aileron. The aircraft flew for 350 yards before ending up in a tree 4 metres above the ground. His aircraft was the first to use ailerons, instead of the inferior wing warping system that the Wright's used...

  • my heart would be pumping

  • i think its Discoverys last mission

  • Interesting how he keeps his right hand on his chest. Wonder why that is?

  • @Willysmb44

because the body is expriencing multiple G's during launch. This puts pressure on the heart. This is why astronauts must be 100% fit to go into space because they must be able to withstand such pressure.

  • Do they have a parachute?? How are they could use it??

  • i was there!

  • What mission is this? STS?

  • being in space if just like being under water but space is better

  • @TheCoolGuy150 Well,in space you don't know which way is up or down,while in water,there is still gravity,so yeah,space is better :)

  • cant wait to meet these guys :O

  • u know... looking at these guys :) taking off in a shuttle doesn't look too bad, but i know they're under a lot of G's but they look like they're just like "meh" G-force's are nothing...

  • 7000 miles per hour Oh my god this must be one of the best engine ever invented.. In 500 miles per hour u can get shred how much more if ur traveling 7000 mules per hour....

  • 9 people are communist

  • turn the camera fag

  • great job guys, but was a HD cam to expensive for this billion $ state of the art shuttel :)

  • a very proud astronaut the guy on the left

  • @pagan43m funny, both you and I noticed his shortcomings ... can't say I would be any braver than him, travelling @ 7,000 miles per hour... I only drive 65 ((^_^))

  • Omg steven hawkings did the countdown

  • what if i only have one thumb?

  • HAHAHAHAHA Nice ZenZaBill.

  • This is definitely STS121, the clue being the "add to the country's 4th of July celebrations" quote and that the pilot is Steve Lindsey.

Hope this clears it all up.

  • It ended just before MECO! That would be my favorite part if I went into space.

  • It would be interesting if it would be said which flight a video is from. This was STS-133, February 2011.

  • @eivissano It cant be. It was posted in 2008...

  • '57 seconds into the flight.. engines beginning to rev up...' :D

  • can't help but wonder why that astronaut in the middle doesn't put his or her notepad away during launch

  • @CCPlaetean because its strapped to his leg so it would fly around in the cockpit :)

  • The definition of epicness.

  • actually astronauts dont eat anything for 24 hours before launch. vomiting in space is not pretty

  • @star4galaxy They eat a normal breakfast prior to launch and even eat while sitting there in the cockpit prior to launch.

  • Astronauts have the biggest balls.

  • STOP THE RIDE I WANNA GET OFF!

  • THAT TAKES ALOT OF GUTS

  • How can people dislike this? What are they expecting from a cockpit view? it does exactly what it says on the tin

  • @Simbobob1982

    because of the 240p

  • 5:05

  • 2 thumbs up for me. :) Went back to watch a flight deck view of a Discovery launch. Yesterday (6-21-11) I got to see Discovery in the OPF, go inside and see both decks for myself. It is really small. Looks bigger on TV. Will post the videos over the weekend. Still pics will be at TheScienceMinute-dot-com. I sincerely believe we're ending the shuttle program too early. We need a space station in equatorial orbit for moon hops. Made out of Bob Bigelow's inflatable modules, perhaps. Ah, well..

  • Part 1,Front left of screen is Mark Kelly, who was Commander of sts 134,Endeavour's last flight & the shuttle programmes 2nd last shuttle flight of the programme also in May this year.He is brother of Scott who was the Commander of the ISS on Expedition 26 earlier this year.Behind him on his left is Mike Fossum, who just this week launched aboard the Soyuz rocket to be part of the Expedition 28 mission. To the right of Kelly is the shuttle Commander,Steven Lindsey..toBcont'd in part 2.

  • @miles2057 Part 2,Steve Lindsey was Commander of sts133 earlier this year [2011] which was also the last shuttle mission for Discovery. To Mark's right behind the Commander is Lisa Nowak who is the astronaut that drove across the US in a nappy to assault a woman, who was having an affair with a fellow astronaut that Lisa was having an affair with.she was charged with attempted kidnapping. This was her 1 &only space flight, she was dismissed from NASA after the incident. I thought I'd mention this.

  • @miles2057 "Front left of screen is Mark Kelly, who was Commander of the ISS earlier this year &brother of Scott Kelly who was Commander of space shuttle Endeavour that was sts 134"

Flip that. Scott commanded Expedition 26, Mark commanded STS-134.

  • @miles2057 You're going to hate me...

Front left is Mark Kelly, who was commander of Endeavour on STS-134.

That's what I was getting at - not that you had the wrong Kelly, but that you had the wrong mission associated with the right Kelly :)

  • i would of shit my pants hella when i heard lift off

  • Damn, that looks like a lot of g force...

  • @Dobolt a couple minutes before MECO they experience 3-G. The Soyuz after launch also gets higher than normal G's.

  • I just love the american accent on the radio... them and the Russians!

  • you'd want the window seat wouldn't ya lolol

  • Thank-you for posting this! I've seen 4 shuttle launches from Titusville/KSC, and have enjoyed the "Shuttle Experience" ride at KSC three times. I'm amazed as to how smooth the ride looks inside the cockpit! I really thought it would be more jolting.

  • There is no way I could do this..

  • Pilot Mark Kelly! Hes commanding Endeavour tomorrow!

  • @Skydivingkittens well... tomorrow...next week... 2 weeks... we will see :)

  • Did Lisa have her diaper with her? LOL!

  • 7000 mph! lool

  • So, so exciting - what a rush; thanks for this :)

  • how long does it take for them to get to the moon? :o or where ever their going -.-

  • @YayitsTimm They're going to Low Earth Orbit, to the International Space Station. To get into orbit, it takes about 8.5 minutes. Once there, it takes them about 2 days to dock with the ISS.

  • @YayitsTimm It took the Saturn V Rocket 4 days to get to the Moon. The Space Shuttle never goes to the moon. But NASA's next project is to return to the moon and colonize it.

  • For a moment i thought they were in the cockpit and as it was liftin off they were just reading ordinairy story books

  • CHECK OUT "UFO Disclosure, Revelations & the 2012 Connection" ON

YOUTUBE This is a compilation of evidence revealed by former military personnel,

astronauts, politicians, American presidents. This contains credible aired news

UFO footage. The compilation reveals knowledge of life beyond Earth + the current

ongoing presence and initiated contact which has being hidden from the public for

    over 50 years + more.

  • thumbs for no reason in particular!

    great vid by the way

  • 4:36 - Hang on! Did he just say Lisa Nowak is on this flight? Isn't she the astronaut who went doo-lally over a former lover?

  • :).............

  • Two thumbs UP if you watched the whole thing *including* from T - 3 minutes!

  • Comment removed

  • thumbs up if you wanted to see something float.

  • Man the PLT was pumped to GO!!!!, of course I would also be stoked out of my mind!!! I love how the MS1 and MS2 were doing high 5's after SRB separation! xD I would sell my soul to the devil for a chance to be there!

  • 7 people runs the camera from the other side of windscreen

  • thats incredible wow

  • 7 people are from 1960's russia. lol

  • Awesome!!

  • 7,000 MPH?!?!? YOU GOTTA BE FUCKING KIDDING ME

  • @ahmadhamad They top out at 17,000!

  • @philritter21 Sweet mother of God!!!!! Better hope they got barf bags on board.

  • @ahmadhamad actually it gets to around 8 kilometers PER second in orbit, thats about 5 miles every second! Thats pretty fast ;)

  • theres always a crappy camera in some crappy corner! this shit costs biljons of dollars and they cant afford to put a HD camera in there!!

  • I would give up and drown lol

  • i bet those people had to take a massive nervous shit at the begining

  • I wish I could go to space

  • its so crazy there are people in space right now!!

  • I love that at 6:40, the two mission specialists in the back shake hands because they have less of a chance of dying that day.

  • They seem so calm and cool like riding on a bus:)

  • @Silverweed60 Have you ever rode one of those Greyhounds??? Thats why they are so calm and cool, because they know there aren't on that bus lol, ha ha ha.

  • @jimgreene68 LOL I have actually!

  • i love the dance at 1:43 :D

  • How do they get in the cockpit???Because the shuttle is horizontal

  • @TheCindy210 Short answer: it ain't easy and they have a lot of help. You can see a pretty good view of how they climb into their seats in this video: watch?v=Gaq7dWptuh8

  • @TheCindy210 Really Short Answer: Carefully

  • @TheCindy210 you mean vertical

  • @TheCindy210 through the main hatch, orbiter ingress is quite a show in itself. The crew is helped in their seats by an amazing team of professionals that make sure that every little detail is in order, the closeout crew. By the time they hit T0 the astronauts have been on their backs about 2 hours, then they have a +-3G ride for about 9 minutes. But after that it's zero G! :)

  • I love how the window turned from light to dark :D

  • 3:00 FTW

  • Astronaut: 3 minutes and counting.

    Houston: Copy that.

    Astronaut: Oh crap.

    Houston: WHAT?!?

Astronaut: I have to take a shit.

    Houston: ....

  • @RyansBriefs I like your take on this but it would be more like this: Astronaut: 3 mins and counting Houston: Copy that Astronaut: Oh crap Houston: WHAT?!?! Astronaut: I have to take a shit. Houston: well, what are you waiting for? Astronaut: you're right I'm done.. .. Astronaut: Houston? Houston: Yes, astronaut. Astronaut: where's the flush? Houston: *facepalm*
  • i was lucky enough to see the international space station when it passed over my city but unfortunately it only appeared as a bright light which later on disapeared into the earths shadow. they told us it was gonna come over the city on the news.

  • i am so scared and sad im scrad

  • i would have yelled out LEEEERRRROOOYYYY JENNNKINNSSSS! as soon as the liftoff started

  • sadly discovery's last launch ever was 5 days ago

  • @comock Now how are we going to know a meteor is on our way if no one is going to watch space

  • @XA395XA i didnt talk about meteors. :)
