MJ made brilliant music around this time (1991-1995). Too bad he didn't receive credits for it (not much anyway). After this period he got influenced too much by others, and the MJ-feel faded with Invincible. Hopefully, the new album (if it ever comes) will be a pure MJ-product, so music of hìs mind and not something to fit with current day music, like Invincible tried to be R&B-like.

invincible is actually one of my top 4 favourite MJ albums; i do feel that there is proof that his influence is still all over his albums; but he is definitely looking to reach a younger audience. i cannot fault him for that. but he definirtely needs to produce and arrange a lot more than he does. i agree with you, he is definitely underrated with that. people still make assumptions that he doesn't play instruments, when in fact he does.
