  • open another tab and play lil boosie-betrayed and wtch the best mode

  • 10 people are Boise State fans

  • Chargers all day, I miss LT though. No offense to Ryan Matthews he is a beast.

  • LT!! like a boss, LT!! like a boss, and now RM!! like a BOSS!

  • damn1 how may yards did he have vs boise? he was rippin them up

  • @haudsollicitus21 On last 3rd TD, 14 rush 227 yards and it was only 13 minutes left in 4th QT so he probby got couple more of yards.

  • Geez, his burst is insane.

  • @TheEuphBeast Burst or Bust?

  • 3:20 beast stiff arm

  • If you see his NFL highlights, he appears to be 5' 9" 200, by running style as well, but he is actually 6'0" 225 lbs!!! Am I mistaken? If it's not just my imagination, I can assure you, your looking at a top 5 NFL back come 2013-2014!!!!

  • unfortunately im a freshman here at fresno state so i didn't get to see ryan mathews or paul george at fresno state...fortunately our basketball team might get a lot of help

  • my buddys played with ryan mathews at FSU

  • 4:06 he explodes with speed!

    GO Chargers!! :D

  • Beast.

  • Guy has da he speed, da jukes, da strength I'm so happy dat da Chargers picked him. GO BOLTS!!!!

  • iDidnt kno my uncle Ryan played football.

  • he looks bigger wearing red

  • ryan mathews is the man

  • Look at L.T's rookie year statistics. And look at one of the A.J. Smith's many draft day busts in Ryan Mathews rookie year stats. Any questions?

  • @HarveyRex23

He was injured for most of the year and still had a better YPC than L.T's Rookie year...Can't judge him from his first year stats. It looked like LT couldn't take care of the ball either...but he became of the most reliable runners in the game...Matthews will break out next year because he'll have Mcneil to run behind for a full season. Ball security can be fixed though, a good example is Adrian Peterson, averaged 6 fumbles a season and only had one this year by his own teammate

  • @vangsta11 Yeah but LT still ran for 1300 yards and started all 16 games that season. He was a for sure Hall of Famer by his frickin 6th season so unless you can say that about Ryan Mathews by or before his 6th season, dont't even TRY to compare him to LT. He has a long way to go. LT is one of the greatest backs to ever touch the ball and always will be. Mathews will need to average 1400 yards a season for the rest of his career to come close. I know they always say its not all stats, but it is.

  • @HarveyRex23 All signs are pointed to that RM24 is going to be a BEAST!!! The man is hungry and is going to work hard, and also put on muscle this off season.. He's no JaMarcus Russel that's for sure.

  • BEAST!

  • I'm in the playoffs, and I will be starting this guy as a flex option since he's "starting" for the Chargers. Boy oh boy, I'm either going to forgive this guy for the torture he put me through this season, or I'm not. With my luck Patrick Willis and the Niners are going to annihilate this guy. Please prove me wrong and reward my faith in you this week. Stay tuned for the outcome...

  • He runs to upright and looks for contact, he's going to get killed. Earl Campbell and a few other backs in the past could get away with it but Earl was a straight up beast and weighed more. It did cut earls career and he now has problems walking. This guy will not last more than 4-5 years, he will end up with a career ending leg injury, he needs to get lower and follow his blockers more and not look for contact that often. He has a history of leg injuries.

  • @JwallRockCity7007 You'd think the RB coach would be telling him that.

  • Comment removed

  • @Eball06 You can tell a player that all you want but that doesnt mean he's going to listen. Some players run violently. Thats why Spiller isnt being used as much with the bills because he wont wait for his blockers and runs as fast as he can, that works in college but not in the NFL, you have to wait for your blockers to get set up and follow them thats why I liked Gerhart coming out because he was patient and if you saw him truck the ND defender he gets low when he needs to.

  • I'm a Raiders fan and I'm from Fresno and I used to watch Ryan Mathews play at Fresno State, so not all Raiders fans dislike Ryan Mathews he's a Stud, but plays for a weak o-line, that can't block if their lives depended on it! Just give him another year or two and he'll be a great running back, if that line stays healthy and holds up well enough to let Ryan Mathews Shine!

  • 8 people got their ankles broken when Ryan cut back on them.

  • I just dropped this goon for Tashard Choice. What a beautiful 1st round investment this year in RM24! Thank goodness for Arian Foster and Philip Rivers this season. If I ever see Ryan Mathews, I'm going to ask him to pay me $100.00 for his wasted talents. Maybe next year someone will be suckered into drafting you. Just not me.

  • @gambitazul

He's a rookie. With a pretty bad run blocking line, you can't say any more than that in itself. Give him some time to break himself in. He has more talent then half of the backs in the NFL as of these past few years. Yeah, he's not racking up 150 yd games or scoring 3-4 td's a game like he did at CSUF but, you know what, hes still averaging yards and pounding the ball down throats. Give him time, he'll become a great nfl back.

  • song name please some1 say

  • incredible boy... i`m sure he will go his way, and the chargers benifit from his speed and skills. also biggest respect & props to his mom, who really raised up a champ...

  • the chargers should of kept LT around to mentor mathews, he would of learned alot from him especially with how talented he seems........but where the hell does san diego keep getting talented HBs

  • I guess he's not going to get the "1,200 yards, 4.2 YPC, 14 TD", I was expecting during preseason haha. But i still really like the way he runs, and if he can stay healthy and get a hold on those fumbling problems, I think he can be pretty good. He's got some great BC vision. But, Mike Tolbert has been a HUGE surprise and I hope they sign him for a 2-3 yr contact.

  • Fantasy wise, a total bust this season. In reality, the kid needs to stay healthy and need to work on his ball protection skills in the offseason. Even for all you RM24 enthusiasts, you must admit it's been a pretty rough season especially when you're not playing. Also gaining Philip Rivers trust with improving on your pass protection skills couldn't hurt. See you in 2011-2012.

  • yeah and WHY CANT HE DO THIS FOR MY FANTASY TEAM!?!?!?!?!

  • Bam Bam is the shit and once he starts getting more burn and gets a better feel for the game and even with a shitty line he gunna do big things

  • Another fumble... hurt again. Same ole story with this cat.

  • very good running back.. to bad offense suck on chargers.

  • @xxxEmmureOwnxxx You sure about that buddy

  • @xxxEmmureOwnxxx ur offense sucks

  • 6 people cant sing along with the song

  • @doyerblue Why don't you make a team in the league before you start talking sh*t. You couldn't make a team in the league even if your whole family's lives depended on it.

  • @Eball06 I can be man enough to say I was wrong about RM24. My apologies to you and the die hard RM fans. Maybe there's hope for this kid after-all.

  • @doyerblue No need to apologize man.. This is what sports is all about. It won't be fun if there weren't different view points on things. If RM24 keeps working hard and most importantly stays healthy (although out of his control), he can do big things. The rest is up to Norv.

  • @doyerblue Type (Ryan Mathews E:60) in the YouTube search bar and check out the bit ESPN did about him.. LT is in too.. :)

  • @Eball06 Your boy is killin' me dude. This rookie season has been a complete trainwreck. Positive is that the kid has potential so all is not lost. This guy maybe in the same category as McFadden where it's going to take a few seasons before you see his full potential. Hopefully this kid is taking notes and bounces back strong next season. If the Chargers win the West, I'd be a bit weary to start him in the playoffs right now. Tolbert is looking solid at this point in the season.

  • @doyerblue Yeah make sure you have Tolbert as a back-up from now on. I think the Chargers should have waited a bit longer before letting him play. His high ankle sprain seems like it will linger for the rest of the season. It doesn't help that Mathews is a beefy back and puts a lot of pressure on those ankles. I think Norv said he might not be ready to go this Sunday vs the colts; which is good b/c they need to let him heal properly. Now, I just hope Tolbert can keep up the production.

  • over-rated

  • @wrooneymu10 Dead on. I couldn't describe this cat any better. OVER-RATED!

  • @wrooneymu10 jealous fuck

  • i wanna find the person who wrote this song.. and punch them in the face

  • Dear Norv Turner,

Have you seen this video? Do you know what kind of running back you posses? Do you mind handing the ball of more to this guy than Tolbert, who has fumbled twice in the redzone already, so we can score some points? Gah! I had high hopes for this guy, and you're holding him back. Maybe I'm missing something though, if I am, someone please inform me.

    Sincerely, A Frustrated Chargers Fan

  • @skinnybballer i couldnt agree more my fellow bolts fan tolbert is also over weight and a lowsy ball carrier!! maybe we could of beat the sehawks and the raiders if it wasnt 4 his fumbles grrr!!

  • @doyerblue Mathews best games came against tough competition. Wisconsin, Texas A&M....etc. You can look that up, so you can get your facts straight. Mathews has been slowed by injury, yet he is putting up good numbers from the little carries he's gotten so far. Chargers keep falling behind early in games, so Mathews is not able to get all his carries. Don't let your haterism cloud your judgement, read the facts.

  • @Eball06 Tough competition? or Tough Defenses? Because I know you're not saying Wisconsin and Texas A&M are known to have good run defenses right? BTW, are you and RM24 butt buddies? You seem to be all up on his nutsack when he's done minimal contributions to help the 2-5 Chargers. Slowed by injury? Everyone in the NFL plays through injuries... Don't let your fudgepacking to RM cloud your judgement. Kid's an absolute BUST.

  • @gambitazul Lmao your such an idiot, you see the carries their giving him?? 7 weeks into his rookie season, yeah he's a bust!

  • Comment removed

  • @gambitazul i agree but i think a little bit of it has to do with norv i mean ryan doesnt get enough touches it seems to me he could be a big contribution but the chargers just dont run the ball enough

  • its so stupid how here in fresno theres a gang that reps a college, so if i go to a football game wearing a bulldogs jersey they think a gang bang bulldogs, thats some stupid shyt'

  • This guy's about to lose his starting gig to fatboy Tolbert. So glad I didn't waste a high draft pick on this loser. Go Tolbert Go!

  • @wrooneymu10 it wuz a good pik ima chargers fan he jus hurt hiz ankle like wtf wut team do u like that u thnk had a better draft pik? huhhhhhh

  • Comment removed

  • @doyerblue Lol you sir are fail. You think your all badass talking trash about an NFL player, I do not see you doing anything good. Your just calling people busts because there coming from a lower defense, you don't think Fresno State had low linemen? Well they did, there linemen weren't the best and those low defenses even made some stops against Fresno. Why don't you stop talking trash.

  • @doyerblue Mathews put up his best numbers against BCS teams. He's already proven he can run in the league. You must be blind or too dumb to know the difference.

  • @Eball06 Proven how? He's barely even played in the NFL. Wow you have some mancrush for a guy who's looked REALLY bad thus far.

  • @CJ2K4Life I am just addressing you haters for being shortsighted. I don't know what you mean by he's looked bad thus far. Check his stats, dude is moving the ball. He would've had a monster day at home hadn't the LB fell on his leg. I got mad respect for dude for choosing to go to my alma mater; he could've chosen to go to USC.

  • Comment removed

  • @doyerblue I think Bernard Berrian can be the best WR in the league if he decides he wants to be and gets a Jerry Rice training booklet. Toby Gerhart can be a HOF rb if he decides to work towards it. Success is about desire and how hard you're willing to work. I'm sure few ppl thought Jerry Rice being from a small school in the South could have become the best WR ever and a hall of famer. No one can predict the future... not even you!

  • Comment removed

  • @CJ2K4Life How has he looked bad? Besides the fumbling issue he's looked consistent.

  • @doyerblue Have you seen him stiff-arm NFL linebackers? Yeah just keep talking, Chargers are playing more balanced and are letting him adjust to the NFL, rather than take chances with injury and just throw him in every play. He's been averaging over 5 yards per carry, just hasn't got the ball enough. Not to mention he's also been injured.

  • @doyerblue Chargers have the best defense and best offense in the NFL at the moment. They have lost ALL of their games to special teams failures and it shows with them ranking last in the NFL in special teams. I never even mentioned blaming the misery on Vincent Jackson so now you're pulling shit out of your ass. Why would I mention the Jets offensive line when we weren't even talking about the Jet. It just shows how biased you are. Yes they have a great offensive line and LT is doing amazing.

  • @sublime95

    LOL!

  • Comment removed

  • @doyerblue The Chargers defense has held teams to the least amount of passing and rushing yards in the league. Now for their offense, let's just say it's crippled at the moment. Antonio Gates is 75% and we won't be seeing Vincent Jackson til later in the season. If you've noticed all the Chargers losses, the have been within 7 points in every game. They have been outpassing every team they've played. The team has played sloppy and has suffered in penalties and terrible kickoff coverage

  • Everytime they played a decent D they're always behind in this highlight, he really was the ONLY threat on this team. granted a Heisman threat, but none the less, the only threat. Beast right here though, SD will love him

  • HAHAHA i remeber when i went to there games i saw when they palyed boise state

  • Biggest bad ass on the planet

  • damn he is good

  • Comment removed

  • beast !!

  • yea he looks kind of slow in the preseason he looked pretty good though but are defense looked how horrible in the preaseason.

  • Hmm. Judging by the ratings, it looks like LT and Sproles watched this.

  • @gott1rott lmao nah It was LT and Rex Ryan

  • @gott1rott LT would have liked it.

  • @gott1rott LT and Matthews have a lot of respect for each other don't get it twisted.

  • Ryan Matthews is the Man!!! He is one of the best NCAA running backs of all time coming from THE FRESNO STATE UNIVERSITY!!! FSU is the original quarterback U with talent such as Dilfer, Carr, Volek, etc coming out of our programs.

Pat Hill is the one of the most under rated coaches of all time, the guy gives his heart and soul to FSU and is what college football is all about. FSU is coming for the Mountain West next year!!!

    GO DOGS!!!

  • Mini LT

  • John Clay actually put up better numbers than matthews in his match up against wisconsin

  • He just runs really fast down the field and make people hurt their feelings.

  • i love how he personally owned boise i hate boise every year they are like oh we are so good but their schedule is always ridiculously easy their schedule was a joke only good team was oregon and they beat em when oregon was losing all over the place not when they started winning, but anyway this guy dominates

  • SIIICCC

  • No one tackles him. They just push him out of bounds.

  • @steezplz: are you fucking blind? How does he look at all slow to you? Sure a couple corners caught up, but it happens. Doesn't mean he is slow. If he can run a 4.4, then he obviously isn't slow. You are.

  • the new song is actually kinda sick.

  • welcome to san diego !!!!

  • GREAT VIDEO! You saved some of the best for last!

  • come into the jukebox and ill be ready for ya

  • he's no LT

  • @ADAMMNNN

    Just keep watching him

  • @ADAMMNNN no but watch him be the next bo jackson! minus the career ending injury I hope

  • 2 people are haters lmao.

  • What has two thumbs and predicted the Chargers would trade up and draft Ryan Mathews? THIS GUY

  • damn hes the whole package!!!

  • awesome debut yesterday.

  • hes sloww but beastly

  • @SteezePlzz Haha he's definitely not slow, he runs a 4.4 which is fucking fast. He's just built more like a traditional halfback. Guys like Chris Johnson and Jahvid Best will get creamed if they try going heads up on defenders.

  • @sublime95 you hit it right on

  • @SteezePlzz ur slow in the head if u think hes slow running a 4.4 in the combine

  • man i hate the boltless chargers but this kid is gonna be a beast for you guys. ryan mathews of rookie of the year, rolando mcclain def rookie of the year. AFC west sweep.

  • 2 people accidentally missed the like button

  • Blazing speed at 4:10, welcome to SD. LT who?

  • the 2 dislikes were probably donkey or raiders fans

  • @DKlolYAY ur an idiot, alot of fresno state fans are raider fans

  • @runeoner he's on the chargers now, if u havnt noticed. and i think those raiders fans who liked him at fresno would stop liking him real fast, after he runs all over the raiders defense

  • @DKlolYAY not really....college and nfl are two different things..

  • @runeoner The Raiders Defence is like, or worse than a College defence :)

    Chargers baby.

  • @DKlolYAY piss on raiders

  • Offensive ROY im callin it already

  • ryan mathews is a good ass running back. when he was younger he played for tehachapi tomahawks and thats where i play now. its youth football im 13yrs old

  • @MoBxShadows he went to west high too, here in bako

  • CAN YOU SAY STUD HE'S THE NEXT E.SMITH,W. PAYTON, OR E.CAMPBELL TAKE YOUR PICK HE'LL REPLACE LT WITH NO PROBLEM.

  • mark my words rookie of the year

  • Montario Hardesty is gonna have a better carrer

  • @Diontedude Gee thanks Mr. Psychic

  • ok...is it necessary to show the same play 3 times in a row...awesome player...shitty video.

  • @EverythingEvil007

Asuming you are talking about the runs against Boise , those are three separate runs.

  • The Bolts will be even greater with this player.

Sorry to the rest of the NFL.

  • Nothing special about this guy. This video has nothing on it that I haven't seen before from D1. I am no longer a Chargers fan, but I wish them good luck.

  • @TheyCallMeHess We dont want you as a Charger fan. You are a fairweather bandwagon fan and SD does not need more of those.

  • im a san diego chargers fan and this guy will be a good addition to the team

  • ryan mathews is a charger lets go

  • why the hell did you change the song??!!?

  • looks like one person missed the like bottom.

  • hmm lol 98,000 people.. and only one person dislikes.. lol.

  • @xxxEmmureOwnxxx Must have been a Boise State fan.

  • Reminds me of Marion Barber...

  • hell yeah this dude is raw and he plays for the san diego CHARGERS!!!!! now!!! whaooooo!!!!! superbowl!!!!

  • i am a chargers fan and i think this was a good pik but i think chargers should have drafted toby gerhart from stanford check out his highlights hes bad azz thumbs up haa this was still a good pick tho

  • @CHEET0S209 Yea draft toby gerhart with are first pick smart

  • No this song fits the tempo of the highlights and its in Sync with the plays more than the older one

  • Looks like a Michael Turner To me. Not elite speed but breaks out his his ability to break tackles

  • HONESTLY, seeing the success of past rookie RB's, I'd say he can even post up 1300+ yards this season including 10-12 TD's. This kid is a beast.

  • Ryan for rookie of the year!!

    244 att, 1,168 yds, 5.0 avg and 10 tds

    maybe, just maybe pro bowl

  • Dam now he's on the chargers

  • ill .

  • holy shit @ 3:16 to 3:24. i got a good feeling about this kid, can't wait to see him rockin the lightning bolts

  • he reminds me of ryan grant of the packers but faster

  • MARK MY WORDS 1CHRIS JOHNSON 2 ADRIAN PETERSON 3 ROOKIE OF THE YEAR RYAN MATHEWS

  • Ryan Mathews From Fresno drafted to San Diego Chargers!I live next to Fresno!! Good luck Ryan Mathews..Always a bulldog(:

  • I told people back in June 2009 that Mathews would be a first round draft pick, that was back when people thought he would be an undrafted pick or a 5th or 6th round pick. I always knew this kid had potential.

  • CHARGERS FANS!!

    Follow me on Twitter @

    twitterDOTcom/SDChargerNation

    (SAN DIEGO CHARGERS UPDATES)

  • He doesn't have prime L.T.s amazing agility, But he is bigger and stronger and runs between the tackles more. He'll be a really good runningback for the Chargers.

  • I'm not trying to say this guy's the new LT, but he runs very similar to him. But the difference between the 2 of them, is that Mathews runs it between the tackles a lot more. And Mathews isn't going to replace the legendary LT of old, he is replacing the LT that's had just too many runs.

  • @DKlolYAY

he isn't the next LT he is the next LT and Earl Campbell combined. Seriously I'm 5 thousand times confident.

  • this kid might be a complete steal for the chargers in the 2010 draft, i hope he turns out this good in the nfl because they deffinitely expect him to

  • Guys a beast!!!

  • Lol, that same run 5 times statement cracks me up...lol....I used to see those same statements with Mathews' old highlights. What? Why not? What is wrong with multiple 60 yard touchdowns in one game?
