  • You should take back to the trunk otherwise there is a tendancy for 'die back' of the remaining piece of limb/branch that you've lopped. This can lead to disease. Billhooks are great for lots of jobs but for limbs that size a bow saw is just as good and neater! If you have to use a chainsaw (however small) wear some protection - especially out where you are!

  • Can someone tell me where to aquire a billhook like this? Iv'e searched all over the web and turned out crap.

  • @eacortes There are various types/styles of billhook in the uk. Try ebay uk if you don't mind paying the postage.

    Fiskars makes a version should be readily available. Never used one though so I can't make a personal recommendation. Perhaps talk with your nearest bladesmith or blacksmith and keep the money local?

  • Awsome demonstartion. People these days are rediculously dependant on motorized tools.

  • Bill hooks are great, much quieter and no fuel.
