He is catching an incredible stylistic unity due to playing with himself... It would not be possible with some other violin player even though they would come from the same school. By playing himself he is catching the change of materializing his all design for the piece. Perfect!
@yogiverigud He is wearing headphones because I think he is listening other recordings he did previously for the other part. If he is playing cello he might be listening previous violin recording and vice versa... Click track wouldn't make any sense because tempo is not steady and flowing, getting faster and slower. Listening the music itself would be much easier I assume...
@FrozenTap I assume every musician knows how to read treble clef besides their instrument's clef. Or sometimes more.. I am able to read seven clefs for example...
omg omg this was amazing guys I had to hear this like everyday! haha seriously guys like omg! btw It's the same person..I would know.. It's not his "twin"!
@puddingdogjellogoby It may be done, with a 'cello of smaller size. Search 'violoncello da spalla' or 'viola da spalla' and you should find some performances.
with an actual violin player it would've been better. A violin isn't as tolerable as a violoncello, if it comes to intonation issues. not only because of the length of the string.
Strangely enough I actually think his violin is better than his cello for this piece. Although that's possibly because it just isn't the same as a viola, which I'm more used to. Nevertheless, marvelously done!
A piece of every man's heart is reserved for beauty alone. Upon the greatest beauty, one is resigned instantly, one is frozen, one forgets anything exists. There is no word that expresses this instant, not out of our ignorance, but necessity. The divinity that is awakened inexplicably in one's heart is etched there permanently, and like a first love, will always tear at the emotions and for only just one second of time, can we feel an infinite time in a very quiet kind of heaven.
I am playing this with a violinist friend of mine. I always refer to this version, because it is the best in my opinion! :) Even though I am playing the viola part, the rhythmic configuration and such are the same as the Cello. And I like your Violin position xD
The amount of talent in this video is absolutely unbelievable. This man is not only an outstanding cellist, but he also taught himself the violin part which, if you couldn't tell, is extremely challenging. AND he played the violin like a cello and managed to play it amazingly. I have watched this video probably dozens of times by now and it never gets old to me. Whoever disliked this video obviously is using extremely crappy headphones or speakers, or they don't know amazing talent.
That's amazing! I'm gonna find the music for this and play it with my cellist friend. :D Except... I'm not awesome to play it like a cello xD EPIC THOUGH!
This is a wonderful piece, but I wonder why you're playing the violin that way. Just seems a bit odd to me. Truly wonderful work here though, keep it up!
