  • sorry, all I know is that there was a shortage of locomotives at the time, which is why they used what in reality are trams for some of the local services on the railway.

    With 'heavy rail' trains, and 'light rail' trains / trams (strassenbahn).

    I travelled through here a few months ago - on a double deck train from Karlsruhe going to Stuttgart.
