  • great video- thank you filing it down yourself is a little tricky but when your done its worth it

  • another great video by theworks1022. THANK YOU

  • I'm looking how to do this on my Ruger 10/22. Is the new "auto bolt release" just a normal factory bolt stop that has that little point ground off? You know, the little point that the pin catches on to hold the bolt

  • I just did this modification by filing the factory bolt stop. It took me about 20 minutes and was a lot of fun. Thanks so much for posting this video. Very helpful

  • So is this just a convenience thing or does it modify anything else?

  • Will the bolt stop activate after the last round.

  • i took mine apart, and i got the hammer stuck back, and the safety stuck on.... cant get the safety off for the life of me. any advice?

  • Should have been done at the factory about thirty years ago.

  • extractor, an aftermarket one from POWER CUSTOM or VOLQUARTSEN pretty much eliminate stove-piping, I am getting one along with a trigger kit for my 10/22

  • Mine does the same with cheaper ammo. Never had a problem with CCI, Remington yellowjackets, or Thunderbolts. Supergolds and Federals will jam alot.

  • if u install this thing wat does it do?>

  • thanks, just did this to my ruger!

  • This is a great video. Thanks a million. Saved me alot of time and aggravation!!

  • now does this make the gun fire in full automatic?

  • It Dosen't...you are modifying the bolt stop, to release the bolt easily from the bolt lock back position. the already modified part is referred to as a auto bolt release.

  • what is the bolt release for?

  • hey man this video was great for me. the website i bought the peice from didnt give me instructions so i loojked on line and found this thanks so much.

ps i was thinking about buying a new spring, and a firing pin so jif you can post a video of that being put in place that would be great.....thanks again

  • I've done this but now, my Ruger somtimes stays open during firing.. what have I done wrong ??

  • The bolt stop spring is the problem. It's weak, You can either replace it or stretch it, I suggest stretching it. Looking at the spring with the legs up like a "V" Measure the distance between the two legs at the tips then put one leg in the vice with the other one straight up then pull back on it like pulling a leaver, this will widen the gap. you don't want to go overboard 1/4-3/8" wider max. You can bend it with your hands in the field. Make sure No Burrs on the sides of bolt stop, Reinstall.

  • Very informative

    Good job
