There was one off of Warren rd. in Framingham, MA, but it was replaced by an ultra-generic colonial about 10 years ago; I hope it was preserved in some form. The problem with these was that they were intended as a solution to the need for good inexpensive housing, but cost more than a conventional house. Maybe without all the built-ins, they would have seemed more competitive. Nice idea, either way.

It's funny to see how something like a pile of enameled steel can find so many people willing to save it but an Iraqi baby or Afghani child gets nothing but American bombs and bullets
Nobody seems to be trying to save the American constitution either. What a crazy insane world we live in.
True, but they are great homes. Maybe we should use all that steel the globalists drop on the mid east to make more lustrons. The construction industry would go the way of the Bill of Rights.
@SlaveStorm I was in Iraq and all we gave the kids was candy and pop tarts and soda and whatnot... Thats far from bullets and bombs..... So shut the fuck up stupid you dont know what you are talking about so maybe you shouldn't just randomly add a retarded comment like that..
We have several here in the Sarasota Florida area. An idea years ahead of it's time. With modern recycling methods this could be a god-send to developing nations. I have been told there were Lustrons built in Cuba as well.
I live in a lustron here in Cleveland Heights, Ohio. My husband and I bought a new house, but couldn't bear to part with this one...so we rented it. We missed it so much, we moved back into it after three years away and have placed our other house on the market. It really is the perfect home for both my husband and myself!

I lived in one for a year or two as a kid. They should make prefabs more like that now.

There are FOUR within 1 miles of my present residence. I LOVE THESE, but they don't offer enough room for my family. Perhaps in retirement.

We had 2 here in Sarasota, Florida, one was destroyed by someone who tried to give it away for free but I believe no takers.

Very cool! I live in Columbus, Ohio and I never knew the factory was here. There is a Lustron in Marion, Ohio that my friend's dad helped assemble.
