Strange EVP at the Old Adelaide Gaol - Thoughts?

Well it could be, My mum heard giggling inside her work (it used to be an old school VERY small now its simplicity funerals) and nobody was inside. And she was putting the alarm off and it kept flashing green like somebody was moving, but nobody was there. Soooo, freaky.

I watched a video before where someone recorded the same noise and said they thought it sounded like someone playing 8 ball. So by the power of suggestion, that's what I heard. One of the tour guides there told a story about guards having a small pool table on the second floor so maybe that's what it is.

To me it sounded like a tap of something wooden agaist the wall and then a shuffle of feet..?..interesting though !

Sounds like someone playing pool I think. The missus thinks it sounds like whip crack.

I spent 2 nights there as class camp. Some parts are scary at night. Lucky I didn't hear or see anything unusual otherwise I would of pissed my pants.

someone playing knuckles..? Actually, from my experience, it sounds exactly like someone's neck snapping when they get hung.

@TheLeatheryman What experience would you possibly have with hearing peoples necks snapping when being hung? Should we be contacting the police?

sounds like a stock whip probly small about 3-5 feet ( cattlemans ) doing a basic round up crack wich is called the cattlemans crack

a whip...... i saw a door open by itself when i was there and caught an orb on photo moments b4,was at night. was scary but enjoyed it....there is sumfin there i belive

Thanks for that. Yes I agree that there are lots of noises in the old buildings there, and have dismissed the vast majority many times before. This one is intriguing to us though and all will be revealed soon in the follow up where we have managed to recreate this sound. I am just awaiting permission to put it up from certain parties... sighs. lol

sounds good :),Ive been too the adelaide gaol a few times with a few buddys,and what gets me stumped every time there was that there are cells out side (not in the cell blocks in the bildings),we have taken snap shots with 3 different cameras and one cell at the end came up with nothing but see though black images??? And the fash was on all the time,all 3 cameras had same shots.wierd!

Could be paranormal,But keeping an open mine..Where was this sound captured? what building?,And was it a windy night? cos,Soming could have been blowing around if there was a draft in there that may blow an object too tap the wall or somthing? ,Was it really cold that night? It has been known that hot or cold temp can couse timber or metal too slity expand and retract? there for can make a sound.

sounds like a whip or the hangmans rope. when someone's neck gets snapped... very interesting. cant wait to find out what you guys think it is.

Very hard to hear but, but after looping it about ten times, i would say it most sounds like a broom hitting the floor, then the words 'clean it up'.

Yeah sounds a lot like something wooden hitting the ground. I would go for Boudiicca's broom handle hitting a concrete floor in an echoey building, or at least something like that.

I heard a crack and then a scuffling sound. My first thought was of a cleaner dropping a broom...

also sounds a little like a cane being whipped..

hmm, if it was in a large room with a hard floor it would be an echoey area (not sure if echoey is a real word lol), it could be the sound of a water drip.

Thanks for that. It is a large double storey cell block... very echoey (to use your word lol). I don't want to say what we think it sounds like yet as it then puts that thought into your mind. But there is no water connected to this block at all.

sort of a cracking sound, cant tell what it could be from, or as a result of. Kind of cool audio capture though. Almost sounds like when my elbow cracked at an investigation..lol

Yeah there is that loud click and then a couple of seconds later you hear a more distant double clicks. And oooooo.... if your elbow cracked like that :( lol

I was in the basement of the Cleveland house with Brandi and Chris, and my elbow cracked like its never cracked before... how embarrassing! Its ion the video. But seriously, though it sounds like my elbow, but I have no idea what it could be . If its paranormal, that would be signifigant.
