  • What has happened? A lot of the doo wop videos are gone . . . and this one is way out of sync.

  • There will never be another pookie. I believe his story. Proof is nobody can sing it like pookie.

  • Another opressed brotha that shoulda coulda but didnt make it big cuz of da man.

  • A colorful story behind an amazing song.

At 3:06, how smooth is that! You can easily spot talent on how effortless they do it.

Today, a lot of artists rely on autotune and songs are all about vanity. It's really dumb.

  • sublime

  • AWSOME!!!!!

  • I wonder if Bonniejean is Still living

    Chris chiles

  • Absolutely brilliant. Here's a group of guys in their 60s and 70s performing a number they first recorded in the 50s and actually improving on it. Pookie, God rest his soul, is on top form and Dexter on bass vocals could have been the inspiration for the record Mr. Bass Man by Johnny Cymbal, he's absolutely outstanding. A brilliant sound, stands up in it's own right with any musical genre.

  • I just sent this over AIM to my girl...nothing like the Spaniels..nothing

  • wow my mother and father used to sing this song to me and my brother when it was bed time. it's funny hearing it now, nice song though.

  • I love the bass singer! Anyone know who he is?

  • That's the very talented Dexter Combs on bass.

  • Crisgast..Who? wasn't better when they were young?...not bad for 70+ yr old

  • Pookie Hudson had Throat cancer at this time..I saw them 2-3 times when they were "older"...GREAT STYLE ,SOUND

  • They are better when they were younger. But's it still great they can perform.
