I'm an indian hindu and have to tell you for the most part, indian islam is quite different from arabic islam. Indian muslims have their problems as well, but they grow up different from arab muslims. Actually indian muslims have more in common with iranian islam than arabic islam. Indian muslims have had problems but they are nowhere near as brutal or aggressive as arab or paki muslims. Thats just my observation, then again I have never been outside of big cities in india.

Indian islam takes alot of Native(Hindu) practices in it. Barelvi school of thought is a great example.. I agree that both Pakistan and India need to respect each others religious differences in order to become friends. India has showed some examples of being friendly towards its Islamic neighbors. Where I'm from, Bangladesh has a much better relationship with India. But I don't agree with India by building a fence with its border with Bangladesh. They fear of illegals and Muslim radicals causing problems which Bangladesh doesn't have. I wish Hindus and Muslims can leave in peace as one nation.

All Religions teach peace and harmoney, only a fraction of people distort it. Due to the folly of some misguided people a bad name is going to a peaceful religion that Islam is. Agree, this is how Jewish people also think, but no one asks them why they think that they are Jewish first, and then American, Russian, British, or Isreali.

you need to read a little history. The people, now called Indians existed there from time unknown with evidences from up to 3000 BC.
