(This is not a crack, it's just a hidden setting intentionally put there by ReLogic. Since Steam forces updates on you, they can take this away any time.)

Presumably they'll remove this in an update after the Collector's Edition is released. It's not out yet, is it???

You have to go at it with a registry editor and then make a new character and then you can put the carrot wherever you like and get it with your main character.

No other way, really.
