Just because something is a fun gimmick, doesn't mean that it is practical or useful enough to replace well established ways of doing things.  Not every new technology that comes along is analogous to the pocket calculator vs the slide-rule. Its much easier to use a mouse to move a cursor over a large screen, not move your entire arms over a large table.
