  • The one on the left looks familiar.

  • How fun!

    Should have been faster.

    Nice videography.

  • Good grief, that;s a huge carillon! More octaves than a standard organ keyboard, aren't there?

  • that was cool. love that song. this version reminds me of when i was stationed in san diego and one of the church's there had bells from the high toned hand bell to the steeple bell and played this song. traffic just stopped and listened. i imagine that your campus did the same thing. way cool.

  • This is superb! I love some of the expressions as they play. Well done to you all. I've seen our own carillioneur play at Cobh Bells, but never more than one at the key board.

  • most popular ukrainian folk song and fantastic carillon, I love it

  • This is awesome!

  • Thanks.

  • Very Good.

  • Hey, if you could answer... If these are only this loud inside, how far can it be heard clearly outside? Oh, and doesn't it hurt your ears? :P

  • I played Carillon Bells at Concord College in Athens, WV, and loved it! We had a practice room with the acually set up like you would play but with no bells, it was an electronic device with a speaker in the practice room.

  • this is just amazing!

the sheer awesome force of this instrument just takes control over your mind :o

    I'm in awe

  • I find all your posts most inspiring !!!

  • Lucky guy.

  • I think this would sound much better on a piano.

  • wow a really bell piano thingy

  • oh dear god, what is this!

  • one word: wierd

  • What a god awful sound

  • świetne :D

  • thats really cool

  • this is instresting I have herd and seen the U OF I BELL TOWER IN ILLINOIS champaign but this one on this video is larger

  • Texas Tech University has this Carillon.

  • No, this is at the University of Texas

  • @funkymonkey11 in austin??? hey I come visiting you! :)

  • That's fantastic! I'd really love the sheet music for this quartet.

  • WHERE 'S THIS CARILLON?

  • Who knew a bunch of clanging pots could make a christmas carol

  • es fabuloso! recien he conocido el carrillon en barcelona españa con el concierto de san esteban,la navidad catalana en la plaza de los tarongers..... en la ciudad medieval....magico!!

  • Speak English

  • hey, dumbass, i was being sarcastic

  • lol, such a lame "yay" at the end

  • it sounds like somebody synchronized a bunch of clocks to ring at exactly the right beat to carol of the bells

  • Hey that's pretty cool!

  • We have one here in Springfield il. It is neat to go in to the top of the tower and see all ther different bells, I think there is 128 different bells im not for sure though.

  • You're wrong, very wrong.

  • do u live wher i live i dont think so old man now before comment on my comment, u need to go to the park and see the dam thing yurself moron.

  • I don't live where you live, no. Muyself as seed dis park and did saw the dam thing. No carillon has more than 100 bells. The largest to my knowledge has 77. That's why you're very wrong. I'm not old at all, infact.

  • Yeah this is at the University of Texas. Essentially they are playing the clock tower, and when they play it can be heard by everyone within about a one mile radius.

  • This is WAY COOL! I have never ever heard or seen this kind of instrament before! Thats amazing you guys!!!

  • Where is this?

  • That was really cool! (I'm a carillonneur too.) I wish I knew three other carillonneurs so that I could play stuff like this!

  • wooow i have never seen and instrument like that! wat is it called?? kinda like a piano made out if xylophones (did i spell that right?)

  • a carillon, basically its a huge set of bells

  • it should be hard to practice at home with 5 meters long keyboard

  • I'm speechless. This is FANTASTIC.

    Thank you sooooooo much. It's

    excellent. Awesome!!!

  • AHHHHHHH FREDDY CROUGR !!! the begning sounds just like freddy stalkn that one girl in her dream hahah but nice playing i could never stand that much noise =D

  • cast in bronze plays the carillon and he's really good and this man at the fair told us he studied in england or somewhere close to that

  • Oh my goodness...full marks for effort, but...

  • That was great, very good.

  • how in bloody hell does a newbie practice this instrument without waking up the whole town and driving the whole town insane?

  • there's a practice console that is attached to a xylophone instead of bells

  • @martianman21 they have the same thing but the bells are smaller and inside and the practice on that then once they are ready they play an the full size bell tower

  • the quality of it mad is sound like a big mess or is it?

  • It's because these are carillon bells. Of course I don't care for the jazz part in the middle, but carillon bells have their own unique sound. It sounds like this probably because this was recorded in the carillon cabin. It probably would have sounded a little bit better outside the bell tower though.

  • oh i get it it sounds better outside probaly

  • yeah.

  • is the tangents hard

  • hermoso , bellizima pieza, es una fortuna que tengan este tipo de intrumentos en su universidad los envidio, suerte, muchas felizidades, por dejarnoas escuchar es ta bella musica, cuiden su carillon.

  • ma che è?

  • haha.. i love this!

  • University of Texas, and it's slow because the notes would blend together if it was much faster. We also didn't rehearse this for very long, and the arrangement is more for the novelty of 4 people playing at once than for the best musical representation of the song.

  • It sounds beautiful either way. I like it, looks so awesome to play not to mention the sound comming out is really pretty.

  • I play it faster by myself.

Speed it up. It ain't no dirge!

(But my transcription is much simpler. No octaves and internal clutter.)

Now I have to go play it to erase the slowness.

    Glad you're having fun.

  • OK, what is UT?

    Why so slow?

  • I tink that it may sound best with the original arrengement...

  • Sound beautiful....wow....

  • Oh wow.

    Very Interesting.
