that was cool. love that song. this version reminds me of when i was stationed in san diego and one of the church's there had bells from the high toned hand bell to the steeple bell and played this song. traffic just stopped and listened. i imagine that your campus did the same thing. way cool.
This is superb! I love some of the expressions as they play. Well done to you all. I've seen our own carillioneur play at Cobh Bells, but never more than one at the key board.
I played Carillon Bells at Concord College in Athens, WV, and loved it! We had a practice room with the acually set up like you would play but with no bells, it was an electronic device with a speaker in the practice room.
es fabuloso! recien he conocido el carrillon en barcelona españa con el concierto de san esteban,la navidad catalana en la plaza de los tarongers..... en la ciudad medieval....magico!!
We have one here in Springfield il. It is neat to go in to the top of the tower and see all ther different bells, I think there is 128 different bells im not for sure though.
I don't live where you live, no. Muyself as seed dis park and did saw the dam thing. No carillon has more than 100 bells. The largest to my knowledge has 77. That's why you're very wrong. I'm not old at all, infact.
Yeah this is at the University of Texas. Essentially they are playing the clock tower, and when they play it can be heard by everyone within about a one mile radius.
AHHHHHHH FREDDY CROUGR !!! the begning sounds just like freddy stalkn that one girl in her dream hahah but nice playing i could never stand that much noise =D
@martianman21 they have the same thing but the bells are smaller and inside and the practice on that then once they are ready they play an the full size bell tower
It's because these are carillon bells. Of course I don't care for the jazz part in the middle, but carillon bells have their own unique sound. It sounds like this probably because this was recorded in the carillon cabin. It probably would have sounded a little bit better outside the bell tower though.

University of Texas, and it's slow because the notes would blend together if it was much faster. We also didn't rehearse this for very long, and the arrangement is more for the novelty of 4 people playing at once than for the best musical representation of the song.
The one on the left looks familiar.

It sounds beautiful either way. I like it, looks so awesome to play not to mention the sound comming out is really pretty.
Alucardgirl17 4 years ago
I play it faster by myself.
Speed it up. It ain't no dirge!
(But my transcription is much simpler. No octaves and internal clutter.)
Now I have to go play it to erase the slowness.
Glad you're having fun.
