  • It's time-lapse

  • If it's 2 hours condensed into 2 minutes, then how can it be 'realtime'?

  • @DrHerbz When I was typing the title, I wasn't sure exactly what to call this kind of photography (any ideas?). The footage itself is just a collection of real-time scenes, shot over the course of the 2-hour event, with short fades in between, so it's not really a true timelapse like I normally make. Perhaps "realtime excerpts" might be a better description...

  • This is not a spider growing under someone's skin.

  • @Frigdogg hahah did you see it on facebook and search it up?

  • i love how it shakes its butt

  • caterpie was gonna evolve but i guess it was holding an everstone

  • For anyone who likes this, check out the documentary "In the Company of Wild Butterflies;" it's available instantly on Netflix

  • I'll have to check that out - thanks for the heads-up ! =)

  • LOL you need one more view to make it 10,000.

    That's what I'm here for ;) hahahaha

  • Thanks so much for helping out! :-) Cheers!

  • love it how he takes his "mask" off nearer to the end XD

  • Sometimes they really have to struggle to remove it, and do all kinds of weird contortions in the process! XD Thanks for checking it out!

  • lol 1:04 ugh finally! it got kinda sweaty :P

  • No doubt it was quite a struggle for the little guy! XD

  • absolutely unbelievable! wow. i got to see one pupate, but i keep missing the molt between instars! i'm watching 5 queens presently, the youngest one having hatched just today. thanks for this video!

  • I can't tell you how many times I missed the "good" stuff while trying to film these life cycle vids! I finally found that I had to sit the critter right on my desk where I could see it all the time during the day in order to catch the molt on film. Getting the other event like pupation and emerging are also pretty lucky catches! Thanks for visiting and be sure and post your critter vids if you make any! :-)

  • you know theres nothing in a caterpillar that tells you that its gonna be a butterfly

  • Indeed they do look like completely different creatures... Thanks for visiting! =)

  • @jcmegabyte np :)

  • @Ahamster1 lol ikr I know right

  • A natureza é perfeita... lindo!!!! Obrigada!!

  • Thanks so much for the view and nice comment! =)

  • It does look like that since part of its old head (the head "capsule") does come off during the molting process! Weird little critters :-)

  • wtf

  • Im sorry guys but that just looked like my poop

  • 2 hours of beautifulness :D lol

  • Thanks for watching! :-)

  • now its ugly as hell but soon its very beatiful butterfly

  • It's so cute how the caterpillar "shakes off" its rear end just after it finishes molting. :)

  • They do some interesting things like that sometimes! Thanks for watching :-)

  • the black cap that was on its head made it look Jewish lol

  • Great, you molted. NOW EAT IT. EAT YOUR OWN SKIN.

  • ...and they do just that! XD

  • I'm getting really into macro photography/filming of lepidoptera, how did you get such a close-shot?

  • This camera (Canon HF100) can focus on objects which are about 1 inch from the lens. Setting the focus to manual really helps ensure that the image is as much in the focal field as possible. :-)

  • wow!

  • @narutofan9tf

Thanks for checking it out! :-)

  • cool exelent work have you ever imagined what it must be like to be a catipilar?

  • I have though about seeing things from the viewpoint of other animals - it would be really weird to be a multi-legged bag of juice crawling around on and eating leaves all day, worring if I were going to make to the adult phase before some horrible monster ate me, or worse! :-O

  • Ooooh...another channel...:-)

Amazing video yet again! To catch the best stuff around you! :-)
