Can anyone please explain to me what the opening scene was about?

I was 5 when it came out and not much older when I last played it so I didn't pay much attention to the story.

@Deeforcer i think sarge is fighting the strogg or people with rocket launchers then he was tossed in the arena then fight quake 1 2 3 characters aliens and monsters! he's their story is shown in quake 3 rebellion ps2

@Ziklos2 Sarge was teleported into an arena. Like all the other characters, You have to fight the thing that put your there at the end.

Probably works with all versions of Quake, lol. Might require you to type \devmap *mapname* in console first though.

For "Quake 3 Arena" [computer (PC) version!] go to the console and type: /cg_thirdPerson 1

Then you change from first person view to third person view.

It works with the original bought US version only!
