  • That was funny and adorable.

  • Liz Taylor still sexy in her upper years. Lucy still funny Funny and sexy in here upper years..

  • Even though this bit was obviously 'borrowed' from I Love Lucy, it worked. Very funny!

  • I've never seen this eposide.

  • This was hysterical. I've always enjoyed Liz doing comedy. She is so good at it... and like so many others here... Liz & Dick should have done more comedy. I haven't laughed this hard in a very long time.

  • I saw this long ago and could never understand why Burton and Taylor didn't do more comedy.

  • They are together now. Heaven just got a bit louder :) <3

  • Aaaaaaaahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!! Classic!

  • hihi

  • its hysterical to see Liz do comedy. So animated and fun x

  • RICHARD IS SOOOOOOOOOOOO HOT

  • What a classic. We will miss you Elizabeth.

  • Classic! i never knew they were on here. i was a youngster back then

  • @Mariek9 Yes! In fact, it was the debut episode of the 1970-71 season (and "Here's Lucy's" third).

  • This is classic!!

  • Rest In Peace Elizabeth Taylor, you're always in my heart forever x x x x

  • LOL!

  • One of the best comedy episodes of all time in television history!

  • Hilarious! RIP Liz!

  • This was so funny what a way cheer up a little after the news today. RIP Liz, Lucy and Richard.

  • It's funny but I did not know that Richard Burton (my favorite actor) did not like Lucy at all!!! I am quite shocked by that fact because, he still agreed to perform on her show with (my favorite actress )Elizabeth Taylor. They were all fabulous performers and a real treat to watch. All three were genius talents for sure and I miss them all. Of course Elizabeth and Richard were my favorite couple after Lucy and Desi divorced. Bless them all. :)

  • From what I've read, it was a case of Lucy and Burton's acting styles clashing. He was the epitome of a method actor, who liked to get on stage and let the *magic* happen, while she liked to have everything mapped out and rehearse, until every last detail was set in cement. They were both respectively the absolute best at what they did, but the experience was probably mutually frustrating for them both Similar situation occurred ten years earlier when Tallulah Bankhead appeared on "I Love Lucy"

  • Burton, not surprisingly, contributes nothing to the comedy here. He looks uncomfortable and the astonishing voice and intense, ravaged face is ill-suited to light comedy.

  • @Drblooter99 You're right and I'm agree with you. It was because Burton doesn't like Lucille Ball anymore, he was unconfortable and feeling ridiculous with the show. He was always a bit ashamed with his participation in Ball's show.

  • @Drblooter99 --I think it is precisely those qualities you mentioned in regards to Mr. Burton, which makes this episode work, and easily one of the best and funniest of the series.

  • Hahahahahaaa, this is one of the funniest thing i've ever seen! Elizabeth is just amazing! So is Richard of course.

  • The person who thought of having Taylor and Burton on this show is a genius. :D

  • @happiihoneii actually it was Elizabeth & Richard that talked to Lucy about it at a party. Shockingly, after everything Richard said about Lucy, he said he wanted to do her show. Lucy was shocked. Elizabeth replied, "It's true!" But once they were on, that's when the chit hit the fan. Lucy & Gary were invited to The Burton's place and when they got there, there were police and dogs swarming the area. Lucy thought the Krupp diamond was stolen but really one of their puppies have gone missing!

  • @MissClassicTV1 Yer i heard that Richard didn't really like Lucy that much, i'm suprised he wanted to do it and all that just because a puppy had gone missing LOL!!!!

  • @happiihoneii

... this episode could NOT fail with Liz and Richard on it. I bet the ratings went thru the roof when it was aired years ago. Yes, you're right, the person was a genius who thought to have the Burton's on the show. Historical episode !

  • Oh God that was hilarious. The genius of Ball, Taylor, and Burton in one episode. Classic!!! I read in Kathleen Brady's book titled; "Lucille: The Life of Lucille Ball" that Lucy was quite a pill on set and difficult to work with. Burton wrote before filming the episode: "I loathe her today but now I also pity her...she can thank her lucky stars that I am not drinking. There is a chance that I might have killed her" (Brady p. 310).

  • At the end of the show all three kiss very sweetly and it seems genuine. I take bio books with a grain of salt.

  • @RainOrShineFun I would also take lightly skilled actors acting like they like each other because of the dictates of the script and director.

  • I can't get enough of Elizabeth and Richard. I love them both! Thank you for posting! ♥

  • tan much!

  • I watched this for the first time today and I nearly melted when Richard kissed Lucy on the cheek. Ok, I did melt.

  • If there is a woman prettier than Elizabeth Taylor,I don't want to meet her!

  • @level242 Hello . Agreed. I read that Liz was kinda-sorta in away a bit jealous of Ava Gardner during the time Richard filmed "Night of the Iguana." Liz stated that she thought Ava Gardner is really beautiful.

  • This is so funny:)))))))5*****

  • This episode of "Here's Lucy" was the highest rated for the entire series - the show ranked #3 for the 1970-71 season-

  • champagne is good for everything!

  • umg that made me lol

  • Liz was once on this show as surprising cameo in tag scene. Maybe prior to this episode. But none mentioned it. Who knows that episode? I 'm looking for that good one.

  • This episode is the first episode of the Third season of Here's Lucy, which is being released on DVD June 15, 2010. Also, The Official Second Season of The Lucy Show is being released on July 13, 2010!

  • Thanks for posting this! Though I recall when Elizabeth Taylor appeared on "The Tonight Show" in Johnny Carson's final season, she was asked how she liked working with Lucy on her show, and Taylor replied, "Uh, I didn't." She went on to detail how she found Lucy a bit bossy and unfriendly, and how Lucy sort of manhandled her when blocking out the show, like Taylor was some no-name background extra.

  • @superbu1 Richard Burton didn't have the best time either, in his memoirs he was very harsh towards Lucy's behavior on the set.

  • OMG This ep is amazing sooo funny. Elizabeth Taylor was such a good sport

  • so good

  • THANKS FOR POST!!
