As far as this back and forth goes with you though, I'm done. you can either agree to disagree or you can continue to think that I hate black women. either way, I do not care.
@Laety I didn't say you hate black women. You just dont get it. Hate is not in the equation. Preference and associations are. Our societal beauty standard is white. Until you actively question and resist that, your vision is skewed. That is just fact.
@747t I don't glorify anyone . Makosi is ugly IN MY OPINION. White or black has nothing to do with it. If you think Makosi is pretty, then that's your opinion and you're entitiled to it..just as I am entitled to mine. I can give you a list of 10 black women that I think are hot. And Makosi is nowhere near that list. so please, go take your assumptions elsewhere.
@Laety Give me that list then. The reason I make those assumptions is because there is no shortage of attacks against beautiful black women. It doesn't matter WHAT they look like, a disproportionate number of people are going to talk shit about them just because they're black. If you don't want people making assumptions, take in mind that you are putting extra weight on a scale that is already severely unbalanced. Your "opinion" is only adding to pre-existing prejudice, even if it is just that.
@747t Believe what you wants, an opinion is an opinion, is an opinion. It takes away or adds to nothing. It is HUMAN beings that choose to see another's opinion as "offensive" or not offensive. I don't have to prove myself to you or anyone else. If you want to keep making assumptions, go ahead. But you will only be "talking " to yourself, because I don't have time to take part in such meaningless banter.
@Laety FYI EVERYONE is prejudiced. I'm prejudiced in that I like leather shoes. Prejudice itself doesn't imply malice, it is part of your point of view and EVERYONE HAS IT. The problem comes when you fail to realize that and go around saying things like you're objective and willy nilly calling people ugly. When I see you calling a woman that I find beautiful ugly I am going to take offense and if she's black there is a high probability SCIENTIFICALLY that you're prejudiced against her.
@Laety IN MY OPINION, you must have prejudiced eyes in order to not see her beauty. Regardless, all I ask is that you keep in mind that your words hit harder against a black woman than a white one. And yes, I will get defensive and downright ornery when you attack them. Black women have been told for centuries they're not beautiful, and many believe it. When's the last time you saw a black woman wearing her natural hair, naturally? And what in the world, might I ask makes her ugly???
@747t If you want to see me as prejudiced, fine. Your opinion of me is none of my business. and it does not bother me because I know the truth.. My words don't hit "harder" against anyone. If an individual has high self esteem, and knows their own value or beauty, they don't need the opinions of others in order to be seen as validly beautiful. I don't know where you live, but alot of black women wear their natural hair. there has been a "movement" in recent years to reclaim "natural" beauty
@Laety Of course there's been a movement, and I've seen it. Its very sparse. Even in Africa women that can afford to prefer straight hair. My girlfriend is one! You are oblivious to the forces at work in our world and what they tell women of color. You're almost certainly white and have an "individualist" mindset that blinds you to society's prejudices. You also have no respect for the opinions of minorities because its obvious this is not the first time you've heard this topic being brought up.
@Laety My girlfriend is an African I meant to say. Ugandan. I have friends from dozens of African countries, and I can go on Facebook and look at hundreds of Africans IN Africa. Each and EVERY one of the women has straight hair. African American women I don't even have to talk about, its the same. There is something afoot here. These women don't just hate their own traits as individuals, and its not a slave mentality because African immigrants are the highest achieving minority academically.
