  • Apart from you Micheal , are there any other members of your family either direct or indirect that can play a musical instrument as well as you do ?

  • And I thought Chico Marx was dead! I would love to hear you play The beer barrel Polka. Enjoyed it very much!

  • This reminds me of the under water level music is Mario World 3 :D

  • just a technical tip. It's easier and produces a better tone to play repeated notes with altering fingers like at 0:50. instead of playing 2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2, try something like 2, 3, 1, 2, 3, 1 or 2, 4, 3, 2, 4, 3 etc

  • Thanks Michael from Tasmania, oldies who would love some hymns.

  • oh and how old is your piano, please. trying to find a rough age for mine. thanx

  • Wow! I just discovered you tonight - - Am enjoying your music whole-heartedly! Way back when I took lessons, my favorites were Ragtime and playing out of our church hymnal. (Our church didn't use instruments, so playing the songs at home gave me a whole new appreciation of the music). Will keep looking for your vids. Thanks.

  • It'd be better if it was played on a jazz piano....

  • im proud to say, i have the same name as you.

  • This one KICKS IT!!! Makes me wanna flirt with some 1893 high school senior, maybe get married and have a kid named Garfield....

EXCELLENT, excellent performance and thanks for posting this!!! Looking forward to more great stride piano blues / ragtime tunes...

  • Absolutely note perfect and that awsome bass note right at the end is Winnie's trade mark. Have you got a CD Mike?

  • Have ever thought of making albums? I just love piano music. If you ever make an album or two, let me know, because I will buy one.

  • Man, i am in love with you!! hahaha you play really gorgeous! thank you for record that! Everton

  • 10 months ago I asked if you practised the scales. Reading my comment again it appeared as if I were mocking you. I wasn't. The reason I asked is that I was told one could only be a good pianoist if one practised the scales. You are a superb pianist, so I wondered if you bucked the theory by not doing scales or supported the theory by practising them.

  • Hi Michael: Love your work - it is truly delightful. I saw there was mention from a few folks requesting that you might perform some religious music. If you should decide to do this, it would be marvelous to hear you play 'Amazing Grace'' or 'Nearer My God to Thee'

    My best to you! C.

  • Thankyou..I am hopefully going to record a religious piece and will definitely consider your requests.

  • Yet another wonderful piece! I could watch you all day! I also play rag, with Joann Castle being a favorite. Try looking up Stan Whitmire for Christian pieces who encorporates some of our style. I think you would enjoy it alot. Get some more pieces out for us! Have a great day!! And, I too, would buy a CD.....Just curious....What is the year and make of your piano?? :)

  • What a flattering comment! Thanks for posting it! I will be uploading more videos this month and hope you enjoy them. When i finish my CD I will let you know! (By the way, in answer to your question my piano is a Gerhard and is about 70 years old..I love her to bits!!)

  • I just discovered your youtube page...oh how I wish I could play as well as you...I took lessons for years, but not able to play all that well...anyhow, thanks for posting and I will lookout for new posts.

    A fan in Chicago...

  • Thankyou for your comment..hope you like my next videos!

  • Thankyou for your kind comment- I'm pleased to know that you enjoy my music. I hope you enjoy my next videos and keep watching!

  • I love your playing of "Flirtation Waltz." I know you play by ear, but do you have to practice every day, and if so, for how long? I'm glad to know you're a Christian. Maybe you can post some Christian pieces someday too. God Bless You!

  • I sit and play the piano every spare moment i have (although I work 9-5 Mon-Fri which limits the time). Although I play by ear almost all the time, I am a fully trained Pianist. I wouldnt say i have "practice" sessions..i just sit an dplay for pleasure and thats all the practice I need! I will try to find some great hymns/christian songs to post- that should be an enjoyable challenge!

  • Hello Michael

Yet another awesome video. You've exceptional talent and you continue to amaze me ... and all from memory, no music!. You are incredible my friend. Very enjoyable. Thank you so much for posting onto the web. I look forward to your CD !!

    Kind regards

    Stephen. (more)

  • Well thankyou for such a charming and very flattering comment. I am so pleased you like my playing..I have never made a CD but if I do, I will certainly let you know if you really would like one?!

  • Oh this is super

  • Haha..glad you like my performance!

  • This is how life ought to be.

  • Haha! Thankyou for saying that!!

  • Excellent Michael. I have a request. Could you do Winifred Atwell's version of the Choo Choo Samba? I haven't seen you post any boogie woogie ;-)

  • I will try to record a boogie -woogie when timne permits. Although I am planning to upload two other pieces first. I am so pleased you enjoy my music- keep watching!

  • Did you say a cd? Yes please the sooner the better, Thank you for the music

  • Yes I am planning to record a demo CD soon..I'm so pleased you enjoy my music.

  • Did you say cd's? Yes please the sooner the better.

  • Keep it going Michael. Just seen Flirtation Waltz Video from you. More of the same please. This type of music might be more popular than you think. Excellent entertainment.

  • Thankyou..its always great to know that people enjoy my performances!! I will be uploading more videos in due course and hope you enjoy them!

  • Excellent! I, too, thoroughly enjoy your arrangements and talents, Michael. Seriously, you do need to compile a CD. There are enough folks out there, even if you don't think so, who would purchase your CD's. Keep up the good work and keep posting videos!

  • Thankyou for your flattering comment! I am looking into producing a CD very soon!

  • Now the real question...do you have CD's available? Do you perform somewhere people can come see you?

I for one would purchase one, because there just aren't too many people around who can play like this anymore, not with the style and talent you put into it!

  • How flattering! Thankyou for such an inspirational comment!! The answer (in short) is that I am a complete amateur- I dont perform live and I have no CD's. It would be my dream to be a Pianist- but that is highly unlikely as this kind of music is not in demand anymore. I am so pleased you enjoy my performances and that you see me as a worthy candidate for being an entertainer!

  • Hi Micheal,

Oh! Dont be so modest!! Why aim to be just a pianist?? Aim higher!! Aim to be an artiste!!

Here's looking forward to more tunes from you!

  • Thankyou! With enough work maybe I'll make it to the wonderful world of theatre!

  • Speechless!

  • Thanks! Glad you like my performance!

  • having trouble leaving a comment, this is a lovely piece, have not heard this for years, thank you, you are a wonderful pianist.

  • What a compliment! I'm glad you enjoyed this piece as its not heard often these days..and isnt as famous as the others recorded by Winifred Atwell.

  • Wonderfully Played.

  • Thankyou for your comment- I'm pleased you liked it.

  • WoW, Again, a very good job. Hope to hear more down the road.

  • Thankyou..glad you enjoyed it. You will be hearing more soon!
