  • God Bless the 70's way back when you couldn't fake authentic talent with lip synching new age-millennium hyper-connectic graphic cheese - this is the real deal and what I'd pay real money for now, raw & exposed Arcadiam stadium Rock-N-Roll w/ freakin awesome vocals & funky groove by the "Feats" - damn I wish I was there!

  • @tjer4006 You articaluted that well, mate!

  • this is what it sounds like when white men play funk. thankfully the bassist and percussionist are keeping things together.

  • saw them '76 northampton mass played all of both feats don't fail me now and dixie chicken non-stop no break, and they absolutely blew the theater apart, dance-o-rama, lowel was in overalls, and they inexorably were one of the best bands to come out of l.a. for sure

  • ali baba bass bombs wait is that guy wearing a turban

  • ya think...I think he tormented Lowell....I must forgive....

  • Lowell George lives on!

  • @sacredjimi your just fooling

  • My 2c - I was around all those bands way-back... IMM, Who and Dead were both awesome live shows - one more "heavy", one more "flowing". But Little Feat was the "musicians' musicians" band which made awesome albums in studio. They were rarer in concert while the Dead lived on the road and the Who lived in stadiums. That's what I recall anyway. So I was in the mood to find this song online having just gone 21st century and put on a CD with some studio monitors. TMI. This song smoked on LP!

  • @sacredjimi there is always one.

  • Reading the comments Feat vs Grateful Dead.

Went off on You Tube looking for definitive Dead stuff. Strange how I've liked The Feat since mid 70s. No one ever played many any Dead stuff, in all those years...They might be something good, that I've missed.

Watched 14 clips of the Dead. Couldn't sing, guitar solos drifted about in quality.

Failed to find any real guts to what I saw. ...Whereas The Feat, have been playing their work since 75. No less tired of their groove, now, than then.

  • @pretorios700: Yeah, "I wonder how I'm gonna tell it tou you: don't skin it back but lick my ass...:0

  • My favorite Feat song. The original song on the "Feats Don't Fail Me Now" album.

  • anyone know if this is available on DVD?

  • canyoufeelit

  • What a well oiled machine-they funk the funk--I saw them at the Paramount Theatre with Poco opening--saw them later on with Craig Fuller in the lineup--they were seamless as ever-though NO ONE can replace the greasy slide and grit that Lowell embodied--these vids make this old dog grin--Thanks!!!

    VMcElvis

  • @spyguys-Lowell died from a heart attack due to being over weight and years of drug use but he didnt OD

  • Kenny Gradney amazing bass player! It always helps to look like you're enjoying your job!

  • toJesusisCatholic you suck thats ok you and your special dumb ass music will be able to sing hanna montana songs in your own private world

  • 76 is the year Lowell died wonder if it was right after this concert?

  • @jrmrinaz Lowell George died June of 1979 from an accidental drug overdose not 1976.

  • damn, Bill Payne sat down in the coke pile!!

  • @pretorious700 --I was thinkin the same thing--could be right for back then

  • Deliciously funky!

  • When I think of this song (as I've heard it on Wait. fr Col.) I think of a hot southrn night concert with ladies dancin' round evrywhere and good smoke fillin' the sky.

  • Amazing video quality! Thanks to the poster.

  • @JesusIsCatholic They say music is the universal language. Unfortunately you are an illiterate imbecile.

  • @JesusIsCatholic What on Earth are you talking about... joking perhaps? Otherwise please do the world a favor...drop dead and take your place in your own private HELL!

  • Anybody a video of Mercinary Territory w/ Lowell and Tower of Power?

  • I cannot believe how good this is. So cool !!! OMGoodness.. Long live the funk...

  • @Bassoclock I'm just sayin....

  • Wow, thank you for this post, I know its been up for a long time but I have seen Feat 12 -15 times and I think that this show at Pinkpop was one of the tightest shows I have seen! Everything pops! And soooo together.

  • RICHIE WAS THE HARDEST WORKING MAN OF SHOW BIZ,HE WAS GREAT!!

  • TALK ABOUT FUNKY FRESH-WOW 76

  • This groove is beyond sick man... Richie and Lowell are missed.

  • which one is Lowell???

  • @biggin2g Assuming you're serious...Lowell George is the genius in the purple shirt and white hat.

  • Someone, somewhere...Please tell me how I can get a DVD of this show!!!!!!!

  • R.I.P. Richie Hayward

  • RIP Richie

  • RIP Ritchie!

  • keyboard player sat in his coke again.....

  • Little Feat was on top of the world at this point in their careers and at that top of their games.

    The funk was DEEP!!!!

  • Back then, there was so much cocaine around that apparently the organist used it to wipe his ass...check out his pants...lol.

  • Yee HAW Lowell... so awesome to see the real deal at it! What a great show to capture... Timeless JAMS! R.I.P. Lowell George... You live forever in all of your music! Peace~!

  • This IS the band that was powerful enough to turn goat piss into gasoline!! With apologies to Donald "DUCK" Dunn and the Blues Brothers. That has to be one of the greatest lines ever in a movie.

  • Where can I find this show on DVD / CD? Got to have it!

  • DUDE!! What have I been missing all this time?!?!? I've never heard this band until now. They are freaking awesome!! Thank you for posting this shit and making it possible to enjoy a whole new musical experience!!!

  • No one, and Mean no one sounds like Little Feat. They are the best!

  • You referring to the chain link fence you just scaled at the border?

  • Hahahaha @ Bearses - you moron. Thanks for giving us your "Juan Iota" (One Iota) and showing us the racist, ignorant, stereotyping, stereotypical nitwit you are.. Back to the issue however; when you can play this tune a fraction as good as Hayward does, then we'll all start subscribing to your awesome rock reviews. Umm, I know a little about how it is, since this tune, and "rock & roll doctor" are standards in our setlist.

@ Jackstraw: I totally agree & miss them too.

  • @JuanOmegaIota - yeah, tell me "how it is." I suggested the cadence of this particular performance appeared a little off, slow, etc and you go gettin' all kinds of delicate on us. I'm no expert, by they way, neither are you....now drop and give us twenty you nauseating pile of blubber.

  • @Bearses lolol You are obviously looking at the picture of your mother! Stop fucking her up the ass, and maybe she won't be so obese you no-talent racist fuck-bag!! :)

  • @JuanOmegaIota - ENJOY

  • sounds as good as it did 34 years ago. White boy funky rock & roll

  • This song is AKA "The Circumcision Song"....ty...ty, i'll be here all week...try the veal.

  • anybody know of a video version of 'Trouble', and 'Perfect Imperfection', Lowell era?

  • I dunno, these guys looked pretty torched in this footage. The song execution is a little off, but I'm not musician so what the hell do I know.

  • @Bearses

What you should do is juggle tennis balls while tap dancing along the top of a chain link fence. Then you can tell me Richie Hayward's drumming is "off"

  • @JuanOmegaIota - what you should do is go back to picking lettuce after you scale a chain link fence bubba

  • Lowell is the man

  • did the funk ever end with this original line up?

  • great gig, awesome band. I missed out on this era being born in 1969 , LF was never the same without Lowell George.

  • are they playing on a fucking battleship?

what the hell is this? that is one funky boat.

  • that is some badd ass motherfuckin shit

  • Is that a socket wrench on his finger? been listening to LF for some time now.I am now totally infected that groove has got me,effortless talent .I,ll never get tired off this stuff

  • @eddygortex / that is a socket wrench , , yes , , // just ask the cat at met lumber on spring street.

  • Saw them @ the Aragon Ballroom, Chicago 1977, the best!

  • well if you can stand still you best check your pulse cuz i'm not sure your still here thx for all that u dreamed Lowell

  • man, what an amazing rhythm section!

  • The whole thing 50 bpm slower please, that would be a funny Ex-Perry-Iance.

  • Classic.

  • i can only wonder who smacked bill payne (piano)

in the ass with a powdered hand!!!!!

hahahaha! us cooks use cornstarch to powder ourselves! ;-)

  • fuc*in A! im a musician and have problems explaining how Feat and Steely Dan r

'musicians musicians' glad im not the only 1!

  • HEY everybody look down at the area between your waist and your hips! SEE? I can't help but shake my ass and neither can you! Enjoy ;-P

  • Funky in the seventies. Funky now!

  • Oh my this is so good. This is one of Paul's signature songs. He still rocks it today. Going to see them sunday!!

  • @mlornie true that! i get to see them tonite :)

  • I was lucky to see them 3 times with Lowell, 2 on the east coast and the last time is SF at winterland

these vids are amazing thanks so much for posting

  • in response to alabamapianoman

I was just saying that same thing the other day. I guess they must have used different drugs in the studio than on the road?

  • no ben... im pretty sure they used the same ones, but lowell (like myself) would take anything put in front of him (and me!) 'dont want no speedballs cause i might die tryin'

  • LF was one of the few bands I've ever heard that slowed their music down, live, rather than speed it up.

    Lowell was a guitar god.

  • what a great band i wish i could go back in time and see! this is INSANE!!! boogie central!!

  • You could give those guys just two guitars and a conga drum and they would play all night long. And never disappoint. Just no substitue for true talent.

  • i was meant to put a thumbs up to that not a thumbs down! oops

    thumbs up!!!

    haha

  • Little Feet, The Band & Ry Cooder are tops in my book.....great post!!

  • that's some fine jamming...old school shit

  • Kenny Gradney- great bass player! Almost hurt himself!

  • hey chillin' Can you say MOOG?

  • The Dead went to bed at night praying to have the talent of Little Feat!

  • yeah...you are right

  • @sjw999sjw

never saw the dead live - that's ok buddy. I saw both bands back in the seventies. Little feat were great, but the grateful dead's live performances dwarf every other band that ever existed. It was a thing to behold, especially in the seventies

  • @longlivejerryg Good drugs did that in a vibe. Listen to them now see if you feel the same. Little Feats are a totally different style to the Dead, I don't know why people compare them,I think if they have to, they are better off trying to compare Little Feat to Rare Earth, at least its all funk and no airy fairy stuff going on.

  • @Honeysucklebommie

Haven't been to a dead concert since 1990, so I don't know what the dead are like now. All i can say is that the Dead was the best band I have ever seen, hands down, and I saw a lot of great bands back in my youth (Zappa Beefheart Allman Brothers etc). And it didn't have that much to do with drugs. You have to have seen it to believe it - it was a sight to behold and a sound to blow your mind: The omnipotent Grateful Dead playing in the California sun, psychedelic shamans

  • @pinkpriss

Oh common, I saw the who together with the dead in essen germany back in 81 (they opened for the dead and townsend even joined them on stage later) and once in London before that in the seventies. Musically they dont even come close to the dead. Unless you're into guitar smashing etc. Two totally different bands and their concerts are rehearsed to the last note. BORING!! And I'm sure you would get bored following them around for ten years cause evry concert would be the same

  • a pure Wave of Emotion Slapping you in the face over and over

  • I saw them the same year in Kansas City...two shows..Got lost during during cold/tripeface... The only other band beside the dead that rambled till you forgot what song it was. Then they slapped you back into reality.

  • that was pure joy. Saw them in 77 at the rainbow. Absolute bliss. Thanks for posting.

  • ahhhh good ol days

  • Super Funk rock at its peak. Barrere's finest tune. God I miss these guys. RIP Lowell.

  • floats too

    jusr incredible

  • You folks won't believe this - but I saw this band about 10 days after this film was shot. This is from Holland ( june 76) they came to Hamburg on June 18, 1976, Musikhalle and I was there - they were the shit - believe me Saw them in Jan of 75, then 77 in New Haven, 2 more times after that the last one was in Springfield Mass. They were the kind

  • music this is music

  • Ever try to cover these guys? Even when you get the parts right its still not right. Just about the best band ever!

  • i know exactly what you mean

  • What show is this and when did it happen? Is the complete show available on dvd?

  • Lowell is the man but Paul ani't too shabby!

  • richie what a drummer he is so tight but loose with the groove at the same time magic check out my channel for more groove

  • Skin It Back & Spanish Moon is 2 Funky tunes by Feat.

  • this is the shit fa sure lowell goerge was king

  • This was new music at the time.

it wasn't released on album until 76

  • actually this song came out in fall '75 and was featured on the famous halloween show at the boston music hall in '75.

  • Actually this song is on the FEATS DON'T FAIL ME NOW album that was released in late '74........great song

  • Awesome guitar solo in the end, and that cowbell. Can't go wrong with that.

  • Just A fabulous band, sadly gone these days, and never to be repeated, just enjoy, Lowell was very talented, as were the rest of the band. Long distance love is my favourite for both reasons, I will never forget you Anne.

  • Lowell is a huge inspiration

  • You're a Dream, And that's all that I ask for! Okay!

  • this is real chicken skin music, awesome!

  • I couldn't tell who was playing which guitar part before I saw this.

  • Holy Crap! How did I ever go all these years w/o hearing this tune? Damn.

  • Be glad you've heard it now. Little Feat is killer. Listen to the original studio version too, it's got an slightly faster groove that I prefer.

  • and for more LF greatness, check out Robert Palmer's first 3 lps which contain great covers of Feat's, Sailing Shoes and Spanish Moon. George and Payne and Barerre are all on board as backup with members of the Meters. How can you go wrong?

  • RIP George

  • still missing you lowell

  • Such a smoooth sound, and soulful - what a great band!

  • The precursor to Spanish Moon? They're very similar, I just didn't notice that before.

  • They're usually played as a medley in concert these days with Spanish Moon seguing into Skin It Back. They both originate from the 1974 album Feats Don't Fail Me Now.

  • I can hear the Ry Cooder influence and I like it. A lot. Even after all the years this is, next to Allman Brothers at East, the best LIVE album I've ever heard. Not sure why the blues keep me coming back again and again. But there it is.

  • Kenny's my hero. Ultracool playin' and stage presence. I so want that Fender Tele bass he's groovin' on :D

Paul's just hilarious. The way he nonchalantly sings the "not a bit" part with his eyes closed (3.42)...that's some cool shit :D

  • Comment removed

  • the holes the bassplayer leaves ... yeahhhhh.....

  • can't count many other times I've heard a slide used in funk. That bassist is classic though when he starts on that slide. Hilarious. Cool video.

  • "Early graves without flowers"

    you were NOT kidding.

    Great Feat and Great Slide.

This show has provided some tremendous videos that capture Our Feat of this time.

    Hell of a band.

  • Never again will there be a band as wonderful as Little Feat. Thanks to everyone who posts these fantastic clips from the seventies, where they were at their peak.

  • looks like the keyboard player sat in his coke..

  • dude, thats funny.

  • What a band!

  • Damn ...Kenny has a nice ass!

  • Hey Everybody, turn around! You forgot, Little Feat is playing. Shhhhh.....

  • You cited three complete sentences. Please give only the adjective phrases.

  • Come on now. You're smart enough to do it your self, no? By the way. I never received notification that you'd posted yer most-recent message.

  • Since you chose not to answer, I will answer for you. The sentences in question do not contain adjective phrases.

  • sick like, "that shit is fucking sick", "i 5 star rated that sick jam", "gat dayum little feat is sick with it"

    Feat are sick.

Is "fucking sick" an adjective phrase? Technically, you're right: The man's statement does not contain "phrases" but a phrase. Sorry too give wrong impressions. Let's end this discussion, unless you want to come to my nursing home home and kick my ass. By the way, what do you think of my favorites? Isn't that all some sick shit?

  • It's not an adjective phrase, but it doesn't really matter. I found you annoying, so I spoke up. You probably find me annoying, so perhaps that makes us even. It's not important.

The Smothers Brothers are awesome. The bit about the Pumas in the crevasse is so funny. I had this on an LP as a kid in the '70s, one of the scratchy old records in my dad's collection. It's neat to see their faces; I never saw them on tv because that was before my time.

  • I could swear it is, but then I can be wrong. Do you think it would be a phrase if it has a hyphen, as in fucking-sick shit"? I don't know every thing. Annoying? I don't mean to be, but so it goes.

  • GOOD LORD!! You mooks have GOT to be THE

SILLiest posters I have seen on this site in some time!!Who Gives a Flyin' Fig about yer

"adjective phrases"??!This ain't a freakin' English Blog! How about writing somethin' intelligent about the MUSIC?? MAAAN!!YES.. I AGREE!You ARE Annoying.ALL of ya'll!Now shut

up please with the syntactical debate! Yikes!

  • Bill Payne's keyboard rig is killer(synonymous with "sick"). I think that's a Minimoog on top--a classic. I'll guess that's a Hammond B-3 on the bottom but someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

  • sick

  • Sick? I don't get it. Why "sick"?

  • sick like, "that shit is fucking sick", "i 5 star rated that sick jam", "gat dayum little feat is sick with it"

  • Oh. My mistake. i thought your taste in music may be a little shitty. What sort of music do you like? Little Feat music may be too complex for your simple little mind to comprehend and appreciate. If you want to critique music, or any thing for that matter, please replace your adjectives and adjective phrasals with qualifying statements like, "I don't particularly like LF music because BCR are better." That way, you'll convince many people to think you're more intelligent than you actually are.

  • um... you still don't get it. why don't you relax, little feat is one of my favorite bands. 'sick' is the equivalent to 'awesome' from my area. so easy with the 'simple little mind' comments before people start pointing fingers at YOU.

  • Again. I must apologise to a YouTube member: I never was too hip with generational lingo, not even when I was your age. (I assume you play guitar and sing, in you videos? You're very good!) I've got at least two things going for me now, though, wait! Make that three: 1) I haven't forgotten that I W
