This guy is lying. The work being done was to replace a staircase to the Temple mount that had collapsed. The foundations for the new staircase had to be dug to the bedroock for stability.
When this was being done; archeologists discovered a Roman-era road; and below the road a street, buildings from the time of the First Temple (King Solomon's Temple)
The Jewish Temples were located on the southern side of the Temple Mount. The Dome of the Rock is located on the area that used to be the Antonia fortress.

The "stables of Solomon" were built during Roman times after the destruction of the Temple (from stones from the Temple). The Western wall (Jewish area) was the retaining wall for the Jewish (probably Herodian) Temple mount.
There was work done on the mount to find the source of a water leak (it wasn't done very carefully with proper archeologcial procedures)

Can someone please help me understand? Of all the places within G*d's creation, Muhammed (PBUH) chose to ascend into heaven at the holiest place in in Judaism? Why did he and/or G*d choose this spot? Or was it part of the plan, i.e., Islam is the final revelation of G*d's plan to mankind, therefore there is no BETTER spot?
