The future of journalism lies within the trust of the public and it can only be reached if journalists don't give up ethical info gathering and reporting. The truth will turn out sooner or later and if they lied or used wrong means (good example is the recent phone hacking scandal) will bring them down. In the long term, trustworthy press can only survive.
Hi Dean, the most important thing for Reuters journalists are have braveness to express any inappropriate matter such as Thomson Reuters Bullshit principles created by the Reuters Founder Share by dodging and fudging reuters constitution.
Are you aware to the money loundering by Reuters or Thomson Reuters senior executives.
Carrier pigeons to Twitter, loved that part. News reporting has changed so much over the years, but ethics in media should always remain the same. Very interesting video, always important to remember these things
You should cease and desist talks about Efhics, Wjy ?
I heard, Thomson Reuters provided its cost center employees to use pirate software at Thomson Reuters work place.
One important think, please encourage Thomson Reuters journalist to be independent not to be blinded journalists regarding all the ethical culture failure at Thomson Reuters work place .
Right now ,Thomson Reuters no more thab sophisticated organized criminal agency.
In fact ,Reuters trust principles is dead,lack of integrity and zero credibility as well.
Reuters Trust principles is BULLSHIT,no more than deceptive devices due to alot of wrongdoing in reuters such as photo fraud,accounting fraud and forgery as well
This is a great video, gets a little Baz Luhrmann in the middle but some great advice and humility in there. Applies as much to the documentary photographer as the journalist.
Double thumbs up to your respect for journalism and the writer. A lot of the standard writers for the newspaper go no further, basically punch in and punch out.
This is done far more by right leaning reporters I.E fox news. Some opinion is mixed with facts in left leaning news sources like msnbc for example, but no other news organizations bend and twist the rules of journalism the way right wingers do. Its simple common sense, it boils down to the yearning of stubborn old white men and religious fanatics that refuse to accept change, that is the only reason a person would not be able to see that.

In this video, the pointers for cit js go from 2:00-3:30 :
be honest & transparent; tell what yr point of view is. have a simple mission stmt.;
be fair. if reporting as a neutral observer, make phone call to get other side; or otherwise ack their pt of view;
be fair to those who disagree even if they seem like they're from the dark side;
have a place for comment, contribute to the world's debate;
humility - if wrong, admit it. dont lose moral hi ground.
