To clarify, the reason the U.S hasn't stepped in, is because the North has a few hundred missles aimed at the South's capital, and their armored vehicles and soldiers could make it accross the border in less than half an hour. The civilian deaths in the south would be in the MILLIONS within a couple hours.

With all due respect that is not entirely correct. North Korea is full of natural resources, and is strongly assumed to have extensive oil fields both on and offshore on east and west coasts, that the north have not been able to develop.

Certainly the case remains though that invading a nation with an aging, mentally unstable dictator who has short-range nuclear weapons is not particularly feasible. Saddam simply didn't have that bargaining chip in 2003.

He certainly is sub-human though.
