  • tortures, fuck you yamato

  • Seriously I just feel sorry for the bad guys! They never stand a chance!

  • nice... a little bit of war crimes... :p

  • Comet Empire missile ships are designed to attack planets. They must be packed with missiles. That's why they blow up so easy. This wouldn't be the first time ships were used against there intended purposes.

  • Why do Yamato's missiles never blow up then?

  • The Comet Empire tactics are sound.

A returned prisoner could be tracked like Mazor was. Or he could have been infected with a disease or plague or some type of biological agent. Or he could have been fed false information. Or he could have been turned to the other side and might be some kind of sleeper agent

Or it could be standing policy to keep your troops fighting to the end.

  • However, this seems to be Destar's personal decision and not standard Gatlantean procedure. Otherwise Mazor would have known before what he had to expect and would not be caught such off-guard.

  • Of course, and the no-named ones are the expendables.

  • @sturnfield7783

I'm suprised he didn't wear a red shirt

  • @MARK1HOE To me, the Comet Empire's tactics are similar to that of the Japanese military during WWII, who instilled the Bushido ethic into their men. Soldiers were taught that dying in battle for the Emperor would be glorious, while being taken prisoner by the enemy would be a terrible disgrace.

  • Another comment on the Kamikaze. On the first glance this LOOKS like a rerun of season 1/ep13, but in comparison to Maser, the Gamilusian pilot was almost civilised.

Why, on 4:53, does the Yamato leave a trail of gas from the same spot that Maser later crashes his ship into? Oh, of course: I suppose Saito has tried to fly it!

And note the nice comment from Yuki: torture means nothing to the Gatlantean, but the Doctor's sake, that is too much to take! Can anyone tell what Maser is singing?

  • why dont they simply build more of this type of ship? apperantly each one of those is able to blow up a fleet on its own.

  • barak219, they can't afford to. The Yamato wasn't just another ship. Every (surviving) nation on Earth poured experts, energy, and resources into her. She's way WAY overbuilt in terms of armor and power (and loaded with experimental tech, to boot). She cost as much as the entire rest of the EDF fleet combined, probably a lot more.

  • this makes me feel like redownloading navy field lol

  • wuts up with yamato's gun? its like every1 else who shot it doesn't have any effect, and every shot yamato fired is like 1 hit KO, head shot, fatality

  • First of all, the enemy's guns do a lot of damage to the Yamato throughout the series.

Secondly, the real Yamato's guns were the most powerful ever mounted on a warship, so the spaceship version is like an exaggeration of the original. Also, like it's real world counterpart, space battleship Yamato takes a shit load of damage and keeps fighting. It would have to be that powerful to take on so many ships by itself.

  • In the english version they made friends with the enemy prisoner, then he left and crashed his ship into the argo instead of going back to his fleet. They changed a lot of the story when it was shown over here.

  • Actually, the english version was very similar to this. They cut out the torture, though.

  • yeah sure, if i got a prisonr on my superior spaceship i just dont need to guard him because i'm so busy not expressing myself and thinking about the mission.. gosh

  • wow they haven't even used the wave motion gun :D

  • mother fucker got owned
