RTW was my favourite game, but the community is dying for it, unfortunately.

It is worth it, the single player campaign will give anyone an orgasm for the first 6 months of playing it (non stop). The only problem is that not many people play on multiplayer. Like 40 people on at a time.

The online FORUM community is vibrant, however, with thousands of users posting on forums. RTW has really good mods...

There arent many mods in ETW

It is only rifle/gun gameplay

Lots of bugs and unpolished features

Just get MTW2 then Napoleon total war

Napoleon total war would be at a similar price to ETW, and it would be a newer and better game. Both have guns, etc...

Prince doesn't like MTW2 because the result is too much depending on the units, not tactics. The gameplay is too slow but indeed good-looking.

Why didn'tya like MTW 2, it was an improvement over RTW big time. Better graphics, more explosive gameplay, etc.

It's all about, my spearmen vs your spearmen.

In RTW there are a vairety of gameplay mechanisms for units. Like phalanx pikemen, Legionary infantry, chariots, elephants, unique barbarian warriors, etc... It had a lot of good gameplay.

IN MTW2, it's all about spearmen wars... boring...

That was an awesome fight. It stayed down to the wire just about the entire time. Both players seemed really evenly matched, and both did good.

I love POM's video's, but it's usually quite one sided thanks to the proven tactics and great micromanagement and knowledge of just about every unit in the game hehe. It's refreshing to see too evenly matched players go at it.

Praetorian Calvary is far too powerful in this game. The only thing that can beat them is the cataphracts (and that only stands to reason).

It's a good tactic if your opponent has only infantry and cavalry. But if your opponent has archers the pentagon is useless.

Easier said than done, many things could have happened during the battle. It was really close at the end though.

Well if he would try to command the cavalry onto the right spot I could have destroyed his infantry in the meantime and all I would have to do after is turn my pikes around and slaughter his cavalry, so he would hardly won that battle even if he split his cavalry in half.
