Thank you for your review. It is very useful and insightful your comments. I dont know why mobile phones for people with special needs are so poorly designed. I've come into contact so far with 4, and there were terrible!! I think designers are unable to put themselves in the place of an 80 year old who struggles to cope with modern tech. This particular one doesnt seem so bad but the comments you are relevant. Thanks again!!
Doro is a good cell phone for seniors; although undeniably, it really has little imperfections still. Cell phone for seniors should really have plain designs and features to avoid confusing the elderly.
This phone was not designed to "bluetooth or mp3, or camera" or any of those things, is a telephone to communicate. an old man of 100 thousand years is not going to walk listening to music, just what is going to want to call His son to come get him to the hospital .... ¬¬
i agree about the power button but i believe this is supposed to be setup by a young person and given to the grandparents who wouldnt be able to mess up the settings. and did you have the manual? or were you just guessing the whole time?
If all fails read the manual MORON

Good interface design shouldn't require a manual :(

So your argument is that because you can't be bothered to consult the user manual it is "terribly designed". LOL
My 86 Year old mother has one and finds it very easy to use, maybe she can call you and explain it to you.

Check out the "Definition" section over on the english Wikipedia article on Usability. I'd say the Doro fails on all 5 of the 5 rules.

You mean the one that says "Usability is a qualitative attribute"?
That article had no "pass or fail" rules on usability that I could see.
