what a lot of people fail to realise is there are maybe 3 oil companies with the knowledge, experts and experience to hav fixed the problem, BP were one and they ere using esso and exxon/mobils engineers and equipment as well as their own, this was not a simple fix, most people have no idea how hard even putting a bolt on at that depth is
ofcourse norway has lots of ships there to help them out, i can see 4 norwegian ships in this vid, and i think there is one more from the norwegian company farstad. all i have to say is that the ones doing the most to get the oil out now, are the ships in the gulf of mexico!
almost 30 day I talk about the action to put betuin concret in the split, but the problem was that the BP like to put valve to no kill the drill, it was very wrong and after 30 day I am happy because the Enginners of BP are very lacky because it action was have made in the 22 o 23 of Abril and the American cost only suffer little damage, but the BP not put interest and the consecuences of Florida turism need 10 years to restore your beach. foolish decision of BP,, ...
@drukawski : Mr drukawski your correct to some extent. Just think about production of gas or oil like us (oil field persons). From these hydrocarbons you are running your car engines, turbaine generates electricity n we are providing most of your all needs by taking risk of our lifes...
@marcellogentile1, I agree with you. We have a moral responsibility to take care of our precious Mother Earth. We must put an end to this madness and take steps to end our addiction to fossil fuels. When we poison the planet we poison ourselves. The environmental impact of this underwater spewing oil volcano will be huge, nothing like we have ever seen. The entire balance of a fragile ecosystem if being destroyed. We need a Green Revolution!
@EarthMuffinHugs ok then go ahead, sell your car, stop eating meat, install a solar plant on your roof, or whatever. the best way to initiate a green revolution is to live it yourself, and hope that other people will follow you.
Believe me we can´t wait for politics to solve the problem, we must do it ourselves.
@FXRaptor, you are correct that we can't wait for politics to solve the problem. It is up to each one of us as individuals to make changes to our lifestyles and to set a good example for others (walk the talk). Gandhi said we should all be the change we wish to see in the world. I can't say it any better than that. But, I also believe that we need to take action by signing petitions, making phone calls, and spreading awareness. The stakes are too high for any of us to be silent.
I wonder how much fuel all those ships have burned over the course of the last month. Seeing a breakdown of oil burned in the gulf responding to the well vs oil the actual well spilled into the gulf would be interesting. I would expect the well itself would handily exceed BP's use during its response efforts, but I'm curious all the same.

@christinaandzack So you are suggesting that we should stop drilling for oil all together eh? That's realistic.

@christinaandzack Tell me about it. Too bad it was progressives like yourself that forced it to be that deep.

Is in it ironic that there where was standing one rig now there is two of them.
We must stop this insanity, time as come to make a change and demand that all oil rigs will be closed and sealed for good.
We have plenty of alternative energies systems.
