This is probably one of many instances when the young driver(judging by the choice of body kit) does not know when to change oil and coolant. Even though less on those remarkable 4.6 over head cam engines, it happens to all motors if one runs them fast enough without proper LUBRICATION and COOLING. Also I have busted a Jeep YJ engine when I was 16 because I had no idea to check my coolant, thermostat, etc...(It didnt help that the guauges didnt work, ie temp guage)

4.6 Ford motors use powdered connecting rods. They also have a weak spot in the lower intake manifold. I never liked those motors. This is coming from a ford guy, although I drive a Dodge now. The 5.0 however used forged pistons, and the STOCK bottom end was capable of 10 second runs. Not reliably, but these 4.6 turds would grenade trying to do that. The cobra's 4.6 is completly different story though. It's just the GT SN-95's that suffer this problem.

It seems like they made a compromise when the went from 5.0 to 4.6....the 5.0 internals were tough but high horsepower guys know how to split the blocks easy...

The 4.6 has a decent block, but anything other than the cobra / mach 1 internals a pretty weak.
