It's not working for me. I tried sending the url thingy to my friend, and he input it, but he got some sort of error. He tried setting it up too, and when I tried listening to his stream, I got the same error.

Also, the streaming seems really buggy. I can't even pause the songs without the stream ending.

well i had it going to my other computer but it had no sound. The other problem i was getting is that I could not view it from the main computer no video. What I'm i doing wrong :(

@Adde619 Yea, search the app store for "VLC Stream" and you can find a client that will pick up your VLC stream

How do I make the host PC play music?

Everything works, but I want the computer that is streaming to also play music outloud instead of being mute. Is it possible?

@kenny4me93 So you can listen to music while you stream and stuff? Just turn off playback of whatever you're streaming in VLC, then play music as usual. Or just mute the streaming window and play your own music on top.

Now the pc got turned off and the phone keeps scanning for the pc and cant find it.

Last time i didnt have to do it manually, it just scanned it.

Any ideas what went wrong???

I got this working last night,

(dont know if this vid made a difference, but i did what was done in it and it worked with a bit of messing)

Downloaded vlc and the helper on the PC and the streamer on the iphone.

Had it all working, even this morning i could find the folders with the movie downloads.

(I thought i had to select a single movie at a time on the pc and stream it to the phone, but the phone can find and play anything without touching the pc)
