I think that this new Star Trek might have been what Gene Rodenberry would have created if the technology (and the budget) would have been available to him.
Even though, I love the old Star Trek and will always be a fan of the original, somehow (from what I've seen so far) this "reboot" seems to have a feeling of truth to it. I like the fact that it feels "old-timed" yet totally new at the same time. I can totally believe that this is the beginnings of what we know as Star Trek.
Man, I just love to see Mckoy´s insane face it´s just like watching D. Kelley all over again, it reminded me of his face when he goes crazy in one episode on the TOS. City on the Edge of Forever, too cool.
Damn, am i dreaming, or is it the actor of Tom Paris from Voyager on 1:29/1:30 ("prepare to fire all weapons")????
Looks like him and i heard rumors, that he should be as some kind of father of kirk in that movie, but it was told, they didn't finally use that idea because of his relationship to the other series.
But damn, he looks like aged Tom Paris, does'nt he?
difficult to judge... the enterprise doesn't looke very much like the old one, especially on the inside... the charakters on the other hand seem to be respectfull to the original and quite enjoyable... (and the women still wearing miniskirts saves the day for me personally ;) )
batman was saved by the reboot... we'll have to wait and see....
Why not? Even the old style didnt work with nemesis. Worst movie with lots of stupidity in the story. I like to see some fresh wind instead of trying to get to the old style. there has been too much already and ST hast to come up with something new and a remake has never been made before. imho

It looks to me like they have Spock showing way too much emotion in that trailer
CaptTKirk 3 years ago
I'm sure, that his fight between his vulcan and his human nature will be part of the plot.
In this time, he has not learned to control his emotions like the 100%-Vulcans.
I think, that is why he shows that much emotions.

what is this for a cool music?

it is "war begins" from the Soundtrack "Children of Dune" fom Bryan tyler.
It rocks!

In fact, they made a little re-arrangement of the score from bryan tyler, so it fits better to the star trek trailer.
But it comes from the Children of Dune score, google for the score, you will find the track.

Uuuh, cool Trailer, I'm very excited about the movie.
Spock looks really nimoy-like. Kirk would have needed a short eyebrow-lifting *gg*

Hmmm this is faaar away from Star Trek...
The facelift that worked out for the batman franchise will not work out for the Star Trek franchise...

i agree with JamesTiberiusKirk, fresh wind and new look, that is, what star trek needs.
we have seen enough of the old style. We loved it, of course, but it is time for a re-boot.
If it works or not is another question, but it can't go on the old way.
It's getting boring.
And we - the fandom - has to say goodbye to some old thinks, that we used to love and say hello to new stuff we can love.
Maybe it will take some time. But i can't wait to see the movie. I open myself for something new.

If someone can do it, it's probably JJ Abrams.
