  • Whoever disliked this isn't getting any cake.

  • I love the pieces, I only wish that they were longer so I could enjoy them more!

  • I can find no reason WHATSOEVER as to why someone would not be completely in love with this.

  • Orchesrating this was a triumph.

  • Love the tags, and GO FRENCH HORNS.

  • I dig the annotations. They really help to appreciate the composition, even for a total musical dunce like me.

  • Hell yes, I'm a horn player! :P

  • This sounds like the beginning of a comedy film at the beginning lol!

  • that was a joke...HAHA...fat chance

  • 5 people didn't get any cake...

  • I'm just waiting for a TF2 orchestra so I can make this comment:

"How'd that plan turn out for ya, DUMMEH?"

  • Subscribed!

  • Never seen anyone explaining anything,This beatiful masterpeace you presented us.

  • This reminds me of the music on FSX

  • This should play in Portal 3 when you finally enter the cake room, with all sorts of robots and platforms congratulating you for helping GLaDOS with the last few experiments.

  • You are a massive inspiration to me.

  • I get a Sims feeling from this.

  • can you make "want you gone"?

  • @DragonstarLeo thats exactly what i was going to say...

  • LIQUID DISCHARGE DETECTED AROUND CORNEAS.

    SENTIMENTAL FEELINGS HAVE BEEN DEPLOYED.

  • It's hard to overstate my satisfaction.

  • Love it, Its awesome, if i were u i would suggest this to the yogscast to use in their portal series

  • @DazNoobs

    -

but they finished the portal series?

  • Love it

  • This is almost a sing-along-version, no lyrics, i feel compelled to sing along

  • Sir considering that all your videos are just beautiful and you seem to upload new ones on a more or less regular basis it seems you have earned yourself yet another sub. Dont spend it all at once.

  • 3 people aren't alive

  • Surprised to see anyone manage to do something new with Still Alive. But not all THAT surprised, since it's you, Blake.

  • I can see this being used of the opening credits of a portal movie as the camera follows a lady in a business suite through the corridors and labs of Aperture Science. She passes through various busy environments passing by test subjects and people observing them.

Eventually we see her pass into the Aperture Science Lobby and she walks past the Bring your daughter to work day entries and slowly walks up to a little girl with a name badge on which says Hi my name is Chell. :D

  • @talon2000uk oh...mah..gawd... you are amazing! this movie must be made. there has to be a videogame movie made that doesnt suck. this is the best shot.

  • Fantastic! Though I didn't play the game, it seems like a fun game :D

  • fantastic, beautiful, fabulous, wonderful

  • Soooo cool this is go to be my new ringtone, thanks for sharing!!

  • It was so amazing, I shivered joyfully.

  • Great music, but could you leave out the whooshing sounds from the title and description as they pop in? It's slightly distracting...

  • @maksie88 There's an mp3 available that doesn't have the wooshing sounds

  • @dummeh Your music never ceases to amaze me.Wonder what would happen if that greatest musicians that are dead and alive were to hear this.

    This is a great success.

  • This was long overdue.

  • Sounds like a christmas movie opening lol.

  • Hey Dummeh nice piece. May I use it in a video? I will credit you.

  • @cody7119 Thanks. Sure, feel free. All I ask for is a link to my channel in the description

  • @dummeh Alright thanks :) Video is uploaded and I credited you and put a link to your profile in the description.

  • just awesome

  • Delfino Plaza..?

  • thumbed, saved, and shared. great work!

  • The french horn sound sounds alot more like a baritone than a french horn.

  • I play the french horn. :D

  • Wonderful!

  • Really great music

  • Kingdom Hearts Portal World field music :D

  • @TheCalebWeb That would... never happen :P

  • @cloud4aerith Lol, yeah i know but the music would fit, wouldn't it? (If there was a Portal world)

  • @TheCalebWeb Haha maybe ;)

  • abc family

  • I loved it!

  • Honestly GLaDOS. I understand you're critical of a lot of things....but did you really have to dislike this? Do you want to go through that potato incident again?

  • I have no witty comments...but thank you...thank you so much for this! This is beutiful. I wish I had more to say, but I really don't. Just...thank you.

  • Maybe this will help you get more famous, doing popular stuff like this.

  • One person doesn't like cake

  • Have you ever thought about making your fully orchestrated arrangement available?

  • Amazing. How this video is not getting millions of visits is beyond me.

  • @MrLoqueNahak Look at the comments below, Youtube isn't updating the view counts. As you can see it has over 500 likes but 300 views :P

  • @Zeus1337est It deserves MORE. Millions.

  • Mr. Blake, you are a master orchestrator, and you're only getting better with each new arrangement. Your sounds are so close to the real thing that, sometimes, it gets hard to tell the difference. I eagerly await the day you produce an extended piece of orchestral music.

  • how are there 545 likes but only 303 views?

  • @averyfatsnail12 Magic

  • @averyfatsnail12 Youtube takes a long time to update view counts.

  • @Zeus1337est I think it's actually broken at the moment - it hasn't updated in days

  • @dummeh Makes sense, I was really surprised how you had so few views. This is an amazing transcription!

  • Can you please do the theme from the main menu in Penumbra: Overture? :D

  • Portal 2? :)

  • SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY

  • This reminds me so much of Sims!

Its so beautifully done, by the way, you can see the effort you put into it

Really great job on this! <33

  • Please do "Want you gone" too!

  • I liked for the brave French Horn.

  • I really love this song, and this arrangement blows my mind, but what I really love is the annotations explaining the subtleties of the piece. It's the kind of thing I would never pick up if I just listened to it without reading them, but it actually enhances it, looking at the effort that went in. Excellent.

  • 303 reproductions ans 516 likes... Ur remixes beat logic!

  • one of your best imo!

  • Could you possibly do "Want You Gone"? :)

  • The cake is a lie

    The cake is a lie

    The cake is a lie

    The cake is a lie

    The cake is a lie

    The cake is a lie

    The cake is a lie

    The cake is a lie

  • I'm making a note here : Huge sucess!

  • This was a triumph...

  • @jackjohnsonjj10 I'm making a note here, Huge Success!

  • This is amazing. I've never heard an orchestral version of this song that i've liked until now. Thank you for that!

  • You should be composing or creating the music for some Top tier movie or game!

  • An simple but elegant polished arrangement.

    Very well done sir.

  • AWESOME MUSIC !

  • Game of Thrones theme garnished with more variation. Verily, that would please me.

  • Please do more Portal Music! This is amazing! It would be great to hear Want You Gone Orchestrated :)

  • Awesome!

  • Thanks for all the awesome comments from everyone. Glad everyone enjoyed the orchestrated version!

  • @dummeh Have another awesome comment!

  • @dummeh im going to make a portal video of 3 minutes before glados was activated. and how the lab goes insane, and you gave me permission before so ill just add you in the credits and link to you.

  • If I could give you 10 thumbs up, I would.

  • hello I'm just wondering what you think the most useful library to purchase for creating orchestral music like is? By this I mean largest range of instruments that sound good. Thanks

  • @letsallJACKoff I can definitely recommend Spitfire Albion (though I am biased as I was on the development team). Albion has the Percussion, Wood, Brass and String sections played tutti. Other good libraries would be Project Sam's Orchestral Essentials which is a bit like a watered-down, budget-friend Symphobia I/II, or there is Symphobia I/II if you want to splash out a little. Check out the video description for a full list of libraries I used.

  • I can tell if a peice of music, modern music, is American by the prominance given to the french horn. It's become a little game, i'm very seldom wrong. Mostly TV and Film scores from America have a soaring french horn in there, it wouldn't sound American without it. The instrument should be re-named the american horn.

  • @leffehoegaarden I would have to say this rendition of the piece is British. I orchestrated and composed the horn counter melodies and was responsible for the orchestral instrumentation - the original is contemporary rock/folk/etc instruments. I agree the horn is very bold and boisterous and can give an American feel but I do know quite a few European composers that use it quite a bit.

  • Ajskasdasxzsdzsf love the explanations in your video as well

  • Why are Americans so obsessed with the french horn?

  • @leffehoegaarden lol! what makes you think they are?

  • @downandupanddown that was for you bud

  • it's so chipper now, thats kinda cool

  • How about an orchestrated version of the Magicka title music?

  • You take great music, do your little magic and make brilliant music out of it!!!

  • That came out really nice dude! Got a coke can?

  • someone should moosh this and GLaDOS's voice into one. :D

  • YOU MUST DO CARA MIA ORCHESTRA!!!

  • Skyrim theme maybe?

  • @grachamoncha He has made one of the Morrowind Theme, its fairly similar!

  • @grachamoncha As much as the Skyrim theme is awesome, it's better to orchestrate songs that aren't already orchestrated. Kinda defeats the point XD

  • @grachamoncha I've done the Morrowind theme which is similar - you can find that on my channel

  • Wunderbar! Magnificent!

  • EPIC

  • very very nice

  • you sir are a musical genius

  • Music made in heaven!!!

  • why cant i subscribe more then 1 time!!!!!

  • Hah! I like the tags.

  • Brilliant!

  • win!

  • I was literally just playing Portal 2 seconds ago.

    :D

  • my next ringtone!

  • Now Want You Gone if its not much to ask

  • very cool!

  • It reminds me when the songs from Haruhi Suzumiya being orchestrated for the movie.

  • If only you could print out the sheets for a real orchestra - this is the kind of thing I want to be hearing at the next Video Games Live concert. :D

  • Why do I get the image of this as being an intro to a kids movie?

  • I kinda wish there was a big bombastic finale, like where it was going at 1:21, but it was awesome nonetheless.

  • Excellent... always excellent...

  • HOW DO YOU MAKE THE ORCHESTRA. IS IT COMPUTER OR REAL?

  • @ITSMEYAJACK It's computerized I believe. Either way, ITS AWESOME! haha. :)

  • @ITSMEYAJACK CAPS LOCK STICKY?

  • @ITSMEYAJACK Synthetic orchestra. What does that imply?

  • @ITSMEYAJACK It's a computer using various sample libraries from the video description

  • Like I said on your sonic orchestra videos, YOU ARE GREAT AT THIS!

  • I don't have to listen to this first to know I'm going to love it and want to add it to my music/most favorites and my upcoming playlist list!

  • It's hard to overstate my satisfaction.

  • Would it be okay If i used this in my portal playthrough, credit shall be given :D Thanks for your time

  • Fantastic. Please use the choir less for future videos, since the lack of it made it much better here.

  • Alright, the cake might be a lie, but this song surely isn't.

    Magnificent~!

  • deaar god with this music you blew up glAdoses potato :O

  • Love it to death but i was kindof looking forward tho the third verse and the ending.

    Jussayin~

  • @1BlastProductions1 you're lying

  • @idioticstudiogames

See, it's funny cuz I'm not. It was an Ande's Mint Cake I got from the Schwan's man who goes by my area selling food in a big yellow truck with a swan in it.

    Jussayin~

  • @1BlastProductions1

I mean a swan ON it,not in it. That would just be silly~

  • I'm making a note here... HUGE SUCCESS!

  • Oh my god. :D

  • roses are red

    Violonts are blue

    im viewer 108

    AND SO ARE YOU!

    Becose youre still alive!

  • @qwertyuiop246603 Yeah, that's not how it works. It only stops counting around 300, buddy. Check back next time, and try and come up with something original, not a copy. It's really getting old.

  • @tiduswalker Idk for you REAR man but, i made that roses are red stuff up im not the one that copied it, it even says it on google if you just go search it up -_-

  • @qwertyuiop246603 Really? And could you tell me exactly what to type into Google that will show me proof that you came up with it? While I'm at it, I doubt you came up with it, because the number was wrong. I wasn't viewer 108, nobody but you was. Also, work on your spelling and grammar. The first clause in your reply to my comment was unreadable and made no sense. God, I hope Muphry's Law doesn't get me here.
