The original is called "Catharsis of Sufferance" aka The Angel theme but in 2005 they composed an extended version which is known as Sanctuary.

Man, I loved this song as intro of angel, but now I heard the hole song and I think it's not so good. They repead to often the same sequence. It's going to be annoying. I thougt in the hole song there is comming new and exiting, but it was only boring :( . I like the short form of the Angel-Intro better

This isn't the whole song, but the song repeated over and over, and edited quite poorly. "Sanctuary" on the Angel CD, isn't technically the song but an extended remix. The version heard over the opening credits of Angel is the actual full song.

Its sort of funny, i always loved this theme song and it has always reminded me of the music that apocalyptica plays... before i knew where the song was from, i almost thought that it was a theme that Apocalyptica had created.. Apocalytica never had anything at all to do with this song, ever and as far as I know, this is the firt I've seen someone claim they had anything to do with it. Written by Jymm Thomas and Cami Elen of Darling Violetta (and their then producer Holly Knight) and performed by DV.

I'm friends with Jymm & Cami of Darling Violetta and know how this song came about. As far as the band name being dumb or the band not being good or Finland having better bands, you are entitled to your opinion. I cannot share your opinion as I would be surprised to know of five Finnish bands. It is possible that Apocalytica has covered this song live, but this version is not it and they did not write nor perform on the original. Whoever said this was them was wrong. That's all.
