when useing it as a tablet for drawing and such can you rest your plam on the screen while you write, since this is also a touch screen.

Yes you can. The computer is smart enough to know not to register the pressure of your palm. Pretty sweet.

the touchsmart is a desktop, but has a better touchscreen, but if you want a portable machine with a pretty good touchscreen, get the 2500

Touchsmart isnt a desktop, thats a different Hp computer. If money is no option then get a Tx2z, it has multitouch which is pretty cool and upgrade its processor and Ram. if you want a good touchscreen laptop for a bit cheaper then get the Tx2500, i just ordered one for myself. (about $900)

Uh yes it does, its a grid pattern same place the touchpad should be on a laptop. Its in black so its a uniform color of the palm-rest.
