ugh , ok one overweight lady did die on this ride years ago , she died because the restraint could not hangle her weight which caused her to fall off the ride at the plunge =/, BUT for those of you who do not feel safe riding. Perlous had brand new boats which not have over the shoulder retraints just like roller coasters , sadly these new boats do not make a huge splash just like the original ones =/

For anyone who doesn't believe that a lady died on this, I am confirming for you that SHE REALLY DID DIE! although the only reason that happened was because she was so overweight that the bar didn't hold her in. so don't worry.

its attached to the roller coaster now, the coaster has things that come out on the sides and the beast has things that come out on the side too, if ur on the side of it you can see it get air and slap against the bottom

it happened a while ago. she was overweight, and not strapped in properly. [they spend like 15 minutes on saftey, and buckeling you in before the ride actually moves]. so i think she fell out? or something like that and ended up dying. its because on the big drop, the boat youre sitting in isnt attached to the rollercoaster.

The ride use to have a simple lap-bar system (like Xcelerator). The woman who rode was VERY over weight and the lap-bar did not properly restrain her. She fell 115 feet to her death. After the incident the ride went down for 6-8 months. When It reopened they added go cart restraints to the ride along with the same lap-bar system. This all happened in 2001.

Recently the park got new boats for the ride, with a simple shoulder restraint (Like Silver Bullets) to help increase capacity. The only down side to the new boats is the splash is nowhere near as big as it once was.

i rode that when i was in 4th grade and then 1 day later the lady died on it. and my mom was hesitant on letting me ride it alone, then after the lady died she was like "i cant believe i let you ride that"

it depends where on the bridge you are to get wet though :P i went on the ride and got soaked. i also was on the bridge for a few rounds and got soaked

This is Perilous Plunge. you get soaked head to toe on that and you can get pretty wet on the bridge too. The coaster in the backround, Xcellerator, is pretty awsome too.
