Dont get me wrong. I'm a huge Honda fan. But if you call this Honda Performance, thats embarassing. Honda performance isn't Indy car racing. Senna, McLaren, NSX, does that ring any bells?
The CTR can turn lap times faster than the S2000 and VERY close to the NSX, so it's no slouch! Don't hold your breath for a new S, but I'm pretty sure there will be something similar to the NSX in the near future.
I like how painfully simple this new refueling safety system is, pure Honda engineering!
@king15fifteen They dont make the CTR any more. The last one was the FD2-R. Now the highest performance Honda is a Civic SI. You gotta be kidding me right? And the CTR is no where near the NSX-R. It's like honda has nothing to do with performance now. The NSX replacement project was cancelled and even that car didn't have the NSX spirit. They're so called performance now is a hybrid called the CRZ. The idea of the small light chassis was the right move for honda but 115hp 6k Redline? Not HONDA.
@c312eal with the times being where they are at now honda has shifted its projects from performance based cars that are to be sold to the public. as far as the NSX replacement, it was scrapped also due to the price it would have cost the buyer and also the condition of the economy. what was left of that project is called the HSV-010.
@lilbluecar89 Performance like the Civic SI? So they went from NSX-R to ITR to CTR to Civic SI. While other manufacturers are making cars like the LFA and the GTR. Don't forget Toyota and Nissan is in the same economy as Honda is in and they're still able to make a few performance cars. To the pubic Nissan still makes the 370z. The HSV-010 isn't for public. It only appears in Super GT. It still doesnt have a engine of its own. It's running a formula nippon engine.
@c312eal im sure honda is gonna come out with somthing, but since the earthquake and tsunami hit, that is holding pretty much all Japanese car makers from coming out with new models, and i do hope the make both a new nsx and s2000, we just have to wait patiently i guess
@INSANEFREAK1 You can't use the tsunami and earthquake as a excuse. Honda was planning to replace the nsx but they scrapped the project while toyota and nissan was making cars like the LFA, R35 GTR and 370z's. That replacement didnt even have the NSX spirit and instead of making it they decided to make the CRZ. The idea of a light weight chassis is correct but 115hp 6000rpm redline? What happened to the high hp/L ratio engines that screamed at 9000rpm?
@c312eal i aint using it as an excuse, im saying for every japanese car company it is holding them back regardless of anything, come on now u be the ceo in japan honda and always have to keep up about worrying bout a nuclear meltdown that could take thousands of lives
It would be exciting - if the cars can drive around - all the time - on fire

Ingenious idea! Oftentimes the simplest designs are the ones that work.

@INSANEFREAK1 GTR LFA. These cars were made before tsunami. HSV was being tested before tsunami. Tsunami had nothing to do with the NSX replacement.
