Parenting in general is tough. However, many people have stopped thinking about themselves and spent time with their children and have made great strides in parenting their autistic children. My mother never saw me as diseased or stolen and she had me while she was a college freshman. Parenting an autistic child is simply a parenting a different child with special needs.

Most people in this rally were not advocating the elimination of vaccines--I think most would agree polio is quite necessary. The main focus was "too many too soon." Parents should have a right to determine that for their own child, but are being forced to comply based on the CDC's "recommendations."

Actually, it's still not proven genetics don't cause autism, but many studies show that some children are born with a genetic predisposition to autism, which can be triggered by certain vaccines. I agree the "proof" of this still has yet to be adequately verified, but as a parent, I choose to minimize the risk and limit the number, frequency, and doses of vaccines. You do what you want with your kids.
