  • Lubitel, Russian copy of Voigtlander Briliant, sometimes those copies were made real solid just look at Zorki III - copy of Leica 2. Nice video.

  • the remote release i had some a old ww2 camera kit

  • I didn't even know these little guys had the extra magnifier till I watched your video. Cheers Dude!

  • Lubitel 166+ is pointless. The whole point is a vintage camera. Lubitel 2 is the one for build quality, 166b is OK has the 35mm but is poor build made of plastic (although its lighter).

  • @tomsmith100 I just got a Lubitel Universal with filter to allow for both 35mm and 120mm film. Sweeet

  • shoot at f22 and 1/250th on a sunny day

lower aperture to f16 for cloudy

    and f11 for heavy overcast

    when using 400iso film

if you want to figure out what settings to use for other film speeds you can find lots of exposure charts

just search sunny 16 on google

  • @disablethis Can you replace the glass with a solid ground glass piece to allow you to see clearer? Rather than the small focus spot.

  • @tomsmith100 i have no idea

  • @disablethis Where did you get the remote release from?

  • @tomsmith100 the remote release i had some a old ww2 camera kit

  • Thanks for this. I've just bought a lyubitel 2 and some b/w and colour ISO 400 film. I'm keen to start trying it out, but I don't know what settings to put it on for the film I've got. What would you recommend for daylight shots?

  • For your first roll in a Lubitel i'd reccomend a roll of the C41 process black and white film from Fuji, Ilford or Kodak and rate between 200 & 300 ASA.

If you soup your own & scan the Chinese Shanghai seems very springy.

I have got a brick of the Lucky 100, so we'll see if that is any different.

Process time for the Shanghai is as for Ilford FP4. For the Lucky use the Ilford Pan F time. The Chinese don't seem to make 400 ASA bw in 120 roll, although Lucky do it in 35mm.

  • You can buy Lucky b/w 120 and 35mm film right now at the Light Leaks website for about $2.00 a roll. It's cheap Chinese film, but good for practice. It might be backordered. I just ordered 10 rolls. Heck of a lot cheaper than some places.

  • i'm jealous

  • really nice overview.

  • I wish I'd searched for this video yesterday, I really could've used it, since I don't have a manual/booklet with it! Silly me! Just loaded my virgin film into my 'new' Lubitel.
