I use these particular rounds along with the Federal bulk .22 and they both feed and fire just fine in my mk III. I will get the occasional ftf or fte but thats expected out of a .22
What in the world does any of this prove? I have .22 rifles and pistols. I buy what ever ammo is on sale, I shoot up to 100 feet with the rifles, and 25 feet with the pistols. I never see any problems at all. So many people are too inclined to put everything under the microscope and later say it's inferior. I just don't get it!
It sucks i cant finf any walmarts that sell guns in my area baltimore or one that has a large selection of ammo but in west virginia where my dads family is u can get guns anywhere.
@Aydreean One hit in the brain, you're dead. One hit in a major artery, you'd better have a doctor with you, or you're dead in a minute or two. If one of these gets inside your ribcage, it ricochets all over the place until it loses all its velocity on something soft, like your heart or an internal organ. Rule of thumb: If it flies, it can kill. People have been killed by darts, arrows, airguns and baseballs. A 22 can't splatter you all over the countryside, that's its only shortcoming.
ohhhh these are cheap and good for plinkin but they often get jammed up and missfeed into my ruger standard or mk i i prefer the winchester wildcat for plinkin around but these are cheap in price but also in quality hold one of these in one hand and a quality round such as the wildcat in another and you can just see and feel it but no biggie theyre still fun right :)
they kinda expanded but definitely tumbled. I imagine they would work at higher velocities out of a rifle but this would be except-able on any squirrel hunt.
Remington Golden bullet are so far my favorite to shoot. thanks for showing the expansion results(maybe not the best spread, compared to CCI's MiniMags but i like them)
These rounds work spiffy in my Ruger 10/22 tack driver and my Ruger Mark 1 Bull Barrel. They are pretty picky about ammo as I get quite a few jams and double feeds
from the other stuff. Golden Bullet at Walmart $20 for 550 rds.....not bad for a couple of days fun
@sandrifter They don't. They fail to feed in my AR-22 conversion and my Savage .22 semi-auto. Also had jams in my friends .22 pistol (cant remember name).
@wuyguy If I did not, I would have 20x as many people lecturing me about why I should wear hearing protection. Besides, I was born with central nerve deafness in my left ear, I would like to keep my remaining hearing when Im old.
@grandamracer23 Typically you can get a .22 Rifle from $100-350 depending on the make and model. Of course there are competition models as well that run much more.
@wuyguy yes not to mention regaurdless of the cal. of firearm if your educated enough and were trained the right way you ALWAYS wear hearing and eye protection
@RoyalAlba1 A JHP is a 'jacketed hollow point' which infers a traditional gilding metal or copper jacket. A hollow point by definition does not necessarily have a jacket I suppose. Some rounds are copper coated (especially .22 rounds) where a thin layer of copper is flashed over the outside of the bullet. A traditional JHP has a much thicker jacket than this.
@RoyalAlba1 Powerful is rather vague. There could be two loads one with a jacket and one without and either one could be loaded hotter than the other. I suppose in general, JHP (with a true jacket) would be better. A jacket allows the load to be pushed faster than a plain lead slug. Plain lead tends to smear in the barrel if you push it too fast.
@jaketaylor15 I would say that yes it would go though a car trunk when shot from say 5-10 yards, but it would not have much energy left after. A car door at 80 yards? My guess would be no. A .22 round is just not strong enough.
good good the reason i asked you this is because my brother was actually shot at last night. because my brother disturbed him doing ilegal badgering. the bullet hit the back of the car as my brother was speeding away it left a small dent in the back of the car boot. ill take a video of it and send it you in the next couple of days
@jaketaylor15 maybe a .22wmr, but not a .22lr. I have a pellet gun that can, but it's not technically a pellet gun, it uses the body of a pellet gun, and a proplellant, either liquid or gas, to accheive 2000 to 3000fps, it's technically called dieseling and can be done with some acetelyne that's pumped into the air chamber, hold it on for about 1/4th of a second on low. and it'll crack bricks, pierce phone books, and shatter any silence with a deafening 134 decibel boom
i meant to say they expanded to the size of a 9 mm....but yeah,i think it was just cause i was so close to the clay.....but if u wan to make them expand better u can take a pocket knife and make 4 cuts on the inside of the hollow point...it helps it to start mushrooming out so it has better performance on varmints/bigger game(ground hogs, fox etc.) If u would make a vid on the expansion when u do make the cuts,it would b awesome...if u do then tell me.if u dont know how to make the cuts then ask
I have made 'dum-dum' cuts on the remington subsonic rounts and it does aid in expansion. But, I have not filmed any of it. Modifying ammo and posting how-to's is not for me.
I have had awesome luck using Golden Bullets. All my semi-autos feed them 100% and accuracy on a bench rest is better then another .22 ammo Ihave ever used and I have used a ton of different kinds.
These rounds may work great in a revolver, but in an auto...they suck! They run crappy because of the coating that's on them in my opinion. Want quality buy CCI's.
Wow, the hollow point looks almost cosmetic. I was afraid to use this for hunting because I don't like chewing lead (fragmenting) but it looks like it doesn't matter with these.
