saw the "real"big country 11 times , saw the alarm 5 . saw the "new big country 2 days ago . an abomination !!!! please god make it stop!. peters poor mans bono performance was toe curling. stu adamson was a hero of mine, this is just appalling . never again . sorry.
@davyroppaslf1 . . . .sorry mate. ,got to disagree with you Mike Peters is a god in his own right ( fuck Bono). .i know that in your eyes he's no Stuart Adamson but by crickey he does a cracking job. . .Big Country were never a favourite of mine when they came out in the early 80's, but i went to see them on tour in 2000 ( twice actually, because they were brilliant) and to be honest ,by having mike on vocals its giving people the chance to go and see a mighty fine band
How great is this ?????? I don´t believe this. WOW.Hair darker, shorter, less weight and back he is :-))))) And I just read they are in BOCHUM in march. I think I will have to go. Yipeeeeeeeeeee
Just found out about this Big Country reboot. I admit I was VERY sceptical BUT I found this rather bloomin' moving! I would have respected the lads for getting back out there no matter what but this actually works. The more people that are introduced to this amazing material the better, good luck to 'em.
Sorry......loved this band. Just cannot watch this through. This just doesn't work. How can you carry on without the man who was lead singer, lead guitarist and songwriter. This just ain't right! :(
@bruffie1 It's difficult, but if you see them live it's a totally different experience than looking at a video.
I've seen them at southampton and am going to see them at reading hexagon in feb. It's respectful because they even leave a space on the stage where stuart should be.
@bruffie1 it does work, and carrying on is right if what you do is not memorabilia. the band is alive and doesn't deserve being scrapped because its engine is blown. put a new one in and away you go for another 250000 miles.
@bruffie1 There really is no other man who could step into Stuarts shoes like this one. He is passionate about good music, not only his own,but Big Country's also.
I'm only 18 but my Dad has helped me grow up with Big Country. I managed to see them twice this year! Once in London and a 2nd time at V Fest. They were amazing, I was the same age as my Dad was when he first saw the band! :)
saw big country twice in the 80's, they were fantastic, lots of comments about stuart being proud of the job that mike is doing, they are right, RIP stuart adamson.
love it seen em in middlesbrough and stuart wud be soo proud mike peters always thankd stu for getting him recognised wen he was starting out n now mike is truely showing his gratitude!! :) xxxx RIP my friend stuart :)
I love when the roadie ties Tony's shoe. :-) One of the lesser known rock and roll moments. R.I.P. always Stuart. I think he would have been proud of Mike Peter's performance here!
