This is back when a big part of the establishment was still against rock and roll. It is before they realized all of the revenue that could be generated by it. You can tell by the tone of the show, alot of people were still scared by rock and roll, they still believed the myth. It's almost cute the naivete of it.
I'm a musician for a typical garage/weekend band, and a HUGE B.O.C. fan since the mid-80's, Rush, too, amongst others... more recently in the past decade, hung out with Type O Negative and support acts a lot, at stage right and typically by bass monitors and ear-level with drum kits, and I check out local hardore and metal acts quite frequently. I haven't used ear protection until the past few years, BECAUSE I DIDN'T REALIZE THE PERMANENT DAMAGE I WAS DOING. I use them now, but it's too late.
these idiot reporters need to learn that if BOC wants to play it loud, THEN PLAY IT LOUD THEY SHALL....................you gotta admit, godzilla does sound good really loud
I just gave my comment-input on part one of this vid, and I gotta agree with Weather Report07 about damage unique to seeing only a few bands, This, after 150 shows in the 70's-80's. Had tinnitus in the ear after my own amateur guitar schlock did it for me. Gave it a rest and only lost the high freq over the years....
I'll admit it, I'm 40 years young & have seen over 100 concerts since 1975. I'd like to thank Jethro Tull & Metallica for my high fidelity hearing loss. Those 2 shows must be responsible for 50% of the damage done. Both groups joined my hate list, after seeing them. Loud is cool, too loud hurts & does damage, my most commonly used word is "what ?".
who is this fun-killing twat?

you could have been using earplugs--everyone has to take care of oneself--don´t blame the bands.
