I borrowed Crysis and was distraught when I could not play it high detail. Please tell me. I have and ATI Radeon HD 5450, 4GB RAM but a shitty processor Intel Pentium 4 Hyper threading. Please tell me, if I upgrade to a core 2 duo wil I be able to run Crysis better ?

I checked the description. Could you maybe update it, or tell me what where the music is from? Great video. Crysis is really an underrated masterpiece. Gameplay and visuals at its best. I that fear Crysis 2 will follow many franchises into the console hell of low standards.

More game companies need to release their engine and modding tools to gamers. I can tell you that Crysis would look nowhere near as good as it looks in some of these videos without the work of the modding community. Props to those at crymod who make stuff like this happen.

As you have mentioned, the GPUs are on the same PCB, but that´s all in fact. I´ve never owned a Crossfire/SLI system or even a dual-GPU card, but you can read about the microstutter-problem with dual-GPU cards in several PC-magazines/ websites.

Maybe it´s a problem with your GPU. SLI/ Crossfire based systems as yours have problems with a kind of micro-lagging. If it´s some serious lagging, this isn´t the reason.

Yeah I got microstutter when I ran 2 4890's in crossfire. I don't think cards like the 4870x2 have microstuttering issues though since the GPU's are on the same PCB. I could be wrong though, never owned a dual GPU card :)

Nice system, should run without lagging. As Blaze646, I don´t think your CPU is limiting, the GPU is more important. Also the cooling of your CPU is pretty unimportant, as long as the temperature is ok and you don´t mind the noise of the boxed-cooler. By the way, how do you deal with just 74 GB ?^^

top vid what i dont understand is why my pc keeps lagging when i play crysis on all high at 1680x1050 and so many other people on utube have no prob with it i have been told to oc as the cpu could be bottlenecking any suggestions? and what cpu cooler should i go for?

You should be getting good framerates in Crysis with that rig. What kind of FPS do you get?

Also try lowering some things like AA, they reduce performance heavily. My rig isn't as good as yours and the game runs fine maxed out.

Make sure you have all the latest patches too.

Avatar took hours, if not days, to render on huge render farms.

Crysis is being rendered in REAL-TIME on your ONE computer.

The mere fact that Crysis looks this good and can be rendered in real-time on a single consumer PC is amazing.

Well, it is a mid-end system. Not even core i7, mobo is sub-100$, and the GPU is less than 200. You could build a LOT nicer system than mine. :)

Thanks! I used a Tuniq Tower 120 cooler. Really though it's the mobo that really decides your OC potential, I'm using the Gigabyte EP45-UD3P which is one of the best OC'ing boards out there. Good luck! You'll love that Coolermaster V8 btw (but it's HUGE so make sure you have enough space!)

I used a program for loading custom crysis levels, I forget what its called but google will find it for you easily :) And yeah I play with a high DPI, sorry for the jerkiness!
